just think if we were trying to replace a head coach right now.......:eek:lol:

I think some folks would have experienced the ecstasy of rapture and ascended just by the fact that we needed a new head coach.....it might be pretty calm.

i just think it's interesting, or funny, about all the speculation going on. until proven otherwise, i don't see the reason for all the prognostication. we've been down this road before, not too long ago i might add, so the precedent says..............we go in house, or in family.

and i'm just going to be very surprised if it's contrary to that.

at least if it were a HC search, the chances of going outside the family tree would be greater imo given who and how that search would likely go. We all know who is heading this search, and rightfully so, so i don't know why people are expecting such drastic changes.

we all should have a pretty good idea how this is going to end in some way shape or form.

Sounds good to fire Phil until you see who's out there to replace him might be better off with what we got Just hope Phil surprises and hit's homer with these new hires

i think we might be settling for a ground rule double given how these searches have gone the last two times we've had them.

is trooper gone for sure if so I can't recall when we had to replace this many coaches at one time With Phil having to interview coaches who is going to find those blue chippers we need so bad

who knows may be the OC will bring in his assistants... that may not likely happen but there is a chance

CPF isn't dumb, he might surprise us. Having said that, he'll want someone to fit in with the rest of the organization. There in lies the rub.

Maybe Kippy is the best qualified from aspect but I guess he is viewed as family.

I would be OK with Kippy but I'd really like new and different as well as an affable disciplinarian.

.... I think a lot of people are panicking on this board over nothing...It has been fun to watch... both young and old are talking about the program is a sinking ship, CFP lost heart, we cannot recruit with TT, Kippy is coming here in a Coffin, Norm Chow would move, We are going to hire Clausen as OC, Adkins, no spread Offense, No TP, the list just goes on and on.... sheer Panic and Chaos from a fan's perspective.... Chicken Little the Sky is Falling.... We all have opinions some of us Joke more than others.... VN needs to get a grip on this before we really panic... It is not like MH or CPF or the Donors don't have a plan... they are just waiting on when to break it to us and want to know the reaction before they do....

the madness continues.

AR talking about transferring
reports ont he board that Paige is gone?
AF talking about entering the draft and that TT was the "energetic force" so to speak on the staff and the the rest of the staff was "experienced".

in not so many words saying that our staff was out dated.

nice.

my advice....Rogers, transfer. Foster, fine go to the draft. Paige, well, i guess we'll never know what we're missing huh?

this is getting ridiculous folks, and if these are the true sentiments of hte players then i wouldn't be expecting much come Jan 1 as it appears that they all have their heads somewhere else....greener pastures where chest bumping will continue.

the only thing i know for sure is that it would at least be nice to see who was going to be hired before eveyrone starts talking about what their particular future holds for them, as if they are holding the program hostage or something......

just ridiculous.

Very well put, jake. Could not agree more.

Wrote this in another thread too. Time for CPF to hold a team meeting with one way dialog.
damn right. forgetting all about any criticism i ever had/have/will have about CPF, this is one time, where i think CPF needs to just lay it all out on the line and "challenge" some folks.

in the interest that one man is not greater than program, which we all agree about when it comes to CPF, the same holds true about a few players, one of whome has never played, the other should just be thankful he's on scholarshipm and the other apparently has an inflated opinion on his abilities.

and if they don't like it, show them the door, and wish 'em good luck. i don't like being that way, but at this point, when you make statements like this in public at a time like this, then you open yourself up to it.

good luck to all.:peace2:

Most of the players I think see things more in line with Josh McNeil...
"But what we've got to understand is this is the University of Tennessee. We're going to get great coaches in here, either way.
"Obviously the thing that hurts is that we've built relationships with these coaches ... and just not knowing, it affects you a little bit."

McNeil said any concerned teammates should simply speak with Fulmer, who he said has made UT "one of the top five programs in the country to come coach at."

"He's the centerpiece," McNeil said of Fulmer.

"Knowing that he's going to be here no matter what ... that's a huge comfort to all of us, because we're all comfortable with him and know he's going to pick coaches that he knows fit well with this team. That's a huge deal.

"Replacing (assistant) coaches is something that happens in the college football world. Replacing a head coach is a really big deal, and I'm glad that we've got Coach Fulmer, who's been here so long and we know is staying."

Yeah the chaos can't be good for bowl practice. I smell another lackluster penn state game.

This is an opportunity to improve, it could even happen!
Some of those we are wringing our hands over losing, we may well be better off with out them. I wish Slade could be one of those going with Cut or TT.

Steve Spurrior could do so much for us, and we could do so much for him with getting the players he wants. We've got the cash, if the golf courses aren't good enough we'll make him his own country club... Let the prodigal son come home!

Reminding us of the appropriateness of the thread title...
