I usually agree with his Dobbs stuff, but that's just me lol
I understand, raving about Dobbs seems fairly UT..
On the surface.
For KB, I believe using accurate numbers is very important and I agree with that 100%.
And I will add this for me. The almost unachievable numbers D4H keeps promoting. I'm personally witnessing people/members starting to buy his crap.
It's a political tactic to repeat anything over and over until it becomes truth in people's minds.
Now what do you think is going to happen to people's thoughts if these imaginary numbers aren't met?
1. They believe Dobbs was all hype and failed, even tho that's a complete misunderstanding caused by D4H.
2. Dobbs was on his way but our horrible coach caused him to fail.
(He's already planted that seed)
Trust me,it's not easy trying to point out the unpleasant realities of what he's doing.
Spouting his fake/cherry picked stats will earn him tons of likes.
But it makes no difference. Unfortunately for him, there are several posters here willing to take an unpopular stance because it's the right thing to do. For UT, Dobbs and truth.
Can't wait till the curtain falls on this sham so he can rejoin with a different alias. And start all over.
Of course, there will be those that get right back in line.
From your reply, I didn't see anything we disagree on. I think Dobbs will have a spectacular year. I just think the numbers d4h has implied, means people won't be satisfied no matter how great Dobbs does. It really ticks me off what he's doing to such a great player.I agree with you on most these points. He will definitely blame someone else if Dobbs doesn't put up the historic numbers he has called for. But I also feel like Dobbs has gotten better every year and I think he knows what needs to be fixed even if D4H doesn't. I look for a big year from him. Especially if our wr crew stays healthy. Lots of teams already worried about our run game. If Dobbs fixes some minor things, I think it will be a huge year for him and the Vols.
Kelly averaged more yards per rushing attempt last year and had 10 rushing tds compared to Josh's 11. He's a very good athlete who's on another planet than Josh when it comes to throwing the ball. If you're gonna give Josh the edge then you gotta do it based on your subjective opinion because you surely can't do it by any objective measure.
You guys are the ones who obsess over this accuracy word. I personally have never used it to describe Dobbs or any QB.
The only words I use to describe Josh is TALENTED. The only premise I have about Dobbs is he's a great player.
And because he's talented and great, he'll win the heisman.
Hate to break it to you.... but no, you aren't.I am. I'm just a little more gifted than the typical lay fan.
LOL.... which has absolutely NOTHING to do with whether he is talented, more talented than Dobbs, or a future NFL player.Actually no. I don't like him cause he ain't a vol. Something y'all don't seem to care much about.
You'd rather attack our own in favor of other QBs.
Kelly scrambles Dobbs has designed runs.
Huge difference.
Sometimes stats lie. This is one of them if you think Kelly is remotely in the same class as Dobbs when it comes to running.
Kelly couldn't do what Dobbs did to Florida and Georgia on DESIGNED RUNS.
Yes I was showing that what you said was true since dh4 goes by stats![]()
Do you really think Kelly could run our offense like Dobbs?
There is a huge difference between scrambling and designed runs.
Dobbs is essentially a 3rd running back for us. Kelly can't and hasn't done that.
Wasn't sure. Appreciate the back up Smurf.
And look, I think Dobbs is probably the better runner, but if he is, it's a razor thin difference. And I certainly believe the passing gap between the two is pretty wide. I love Josh, think he's probably a top 5 or 6 QB in the country and is the second best in the conference. To me, that's high praise and very supportive. To others though, those comments evidently make me a racist negavol.
No, I don't think that Kelly would handle the running aspect of our offense as well as Josh. But he'd by far make up for it and then some with how much better he's be in the passing game.
He's not better in the pass game. He just had the benefit of better wide receivers.
Treadwell was a first rounder and Cody Core was also drafted. Plus he has a couple more coming back that'll be drafted next year like Evan Engram, Adebayo, and Stringfellow.
Dobbs on the other hand had injuries/dismissal rob him of Pig Howard, Marquez North, and Jason Croom. That's losing 3 of his top 4 receivers from the previous year. He also had to count on 2 true freshmen to be among his top 4 receivers. One who was less than 12 months removed from ACL surgery and another who moved from QB at the start of fall camp.
Their situations weren't remotely close from a supporting cast point of view.

Dude, you ae absolutely delusional. Kelly is far and away the better passer and it is not even close. Dobbs was the 7th rated passer in the SEC last year and the competition was not that strong. You have even stated that "Dobbs is like a 3rd running back", well sorry to tell you this, but, we need a 1st QB, not a 3rd running back.
You talk all the time about looking at film, well, look at the footwork, Kelly is by far superior, hence why his completion percentage is greater. How many bounce passes did Kelly throw on screen passes vs Dobbs?
Look at the release, Kelly 's release is about a second faster with a higher release point. Dobbs tends to wind up when he is in the pocket. Again, this contributes to the higher percentage.
Arm strength, no contest, Kelly throws on a rope, Dobbs lobs it, Look at JD V the throwing challenge, then look at QD. That is the difference between true arm strength and just being able to sling it 60 yds. Kinda like Nolan Ryan vs a center fielder.
Lastly, Dobbs has to have the receiver open to throw it, Kelly, throws them open, that is the true measuring stick of an elite QB, vs, a good one.
