Compare to Freeze?

Please correct me if im wrong. I believe Freezes 3rd year was last year and we know how well they did tonl start off the year being ranked 3 and beating Bama and whooping us. I think the article I read said they had won two games before Freeze came in. No way Ole Miss was in a better spot than us and Doofus only winning two games and Freeze has been to a bowl his first three years and won two I think. Butch has a chance to win more this year but ill be the first to tell you I am still on the fence with him until we win some big conference games, i.e. UF. With all that being said with everone saying oh just give him another year we are young. Why not compare him to Freeze who has done more than Butch with a lesser program?

Freeze's 2014 team finished 9-4. Can we let Butch finish the year before the comparison?

Because Butch is just starting year 3?

I wish we would stop comparing coaches. Doesn't matter how good or bad another coach is, are we satisfied with what OUR coach is doing?

I think were about where Ole Miss was last season and hope we'll be where they are this year next year. One thing for certain is that Butch is a much more conservative gameday coach than Freeze. I don't think Freeze would ever go for a field goal on the six each line like we did vs Oklahoma. Freeze makes progressive decisions lays it all on the line in games.

Freeze also had a tougher schedule coming from the sec west last year. we will see where we are after this season. No doubt everyone agrees butch needs to win a big game this year.

OM is not going to get +5 turnovers in all their games against quality opponents. They'll have a good season but I doubt they win the west.

I for one am happy with our coach. He is doing good things for us.

Yes, freeze is doing great at Ole Miss. Not every coach does this. He is the exception to the rule.

Jones is definitely taking us to a better place

I would take Butch in every aspect except in game coaching. Freeze has a better offensive plan and knows how to use his weapons.

Freeze is a bit of an offensive guru.
Butch's offense is middle school.


Tons of questionable flaws. Shuttling WRs in and out. Which is just plain stupid when you consider that the point of tempo is to prevent the defense from subbing.
I said it when they hired him and have remained consistent, Azzani is a major liability. They have pretty much landed every WR they wanted and still cannot develop a threat in the passing game. Preston, the WR who has been the least influenced by ZA is their best threat.

The run game is OK at times but that is with two 5-star RBs. Seriously, there are SEC coaches who would kill for this roster.

Ole Miss 2014 was my comparison for this years Vols leading up to the season. Some Great dlinemen, veteran secondary, great wr's, above average QB play (except when bad Bo showed up).

They wilted at LSU and of course got woodsheded at Ark. And we'll have similar games, hell already had one wilting. But we'll also put it all together against some teams and pull an upset at home (ie Georgia hopefully)

I would guess that if we had their O line we would be much better too.

buTch haters will always hate even if we won the National Championship.

So if we do compare and you decide butch needs to go, my question is who do you hire? Haven't you learned what happens when coaches are fired? He might not be as good a coach as freeze yet. But he's definitely bringing in talent which is better than we were 3 years ago. 13 players are playing from 2013 class. As much as I hate to say it. We are still very young with 3 freshman on offensive line And 2 sophomores. We are definitely going in the right direction. Might not be 10-1 this year but at least we won't be 3-8

This! He has done a good job. Ole Miss will still lose some games! aka last year! Bama gift wrapped this one for them. They were soundly beaten except for 5 or 6 very fluke plays! And all of them went in Ole Miss favor. They will implode again this year! UT has chance to finish strong! UF and Arky are winnable! Then UGA will tell where we are this year!
