Compare to Freeze?

Jumping in here late but, to compare Mississippi to the VOLS is silly, it been so long since they have had a good team, that nobody even cares, and then when they get good they still choke at the end. Every team we play circles the date, and they know now it the time to beat us when we are down, because time is running out for so many teams to even have a real shot, unless the whole team goes out and gets drunk on Friday and are hung over on Saturday we win beat the gators. And Butch will be King of "The Hill".

Lol Popcorn Sutton (RIP) ain't got nothing on you.

If UM let's UA come back would Freeze and his coaches have suffered the backlash VN saved for Butch and Co last week?

But they didn't. They did what was necessary to win. Back to back wins vs a top 2 Alabama team.

Yes. The horrible decision to loft a ball up while getting sacked was a brilliant football move.

Sometimes people put too much into a win or loss.

Those plays happen one way or another. That really was a fluke that put them up 14.

But the overall gameplan by ole miss was superb. That took the fight too Alabama and kept it there. Sounds familiar. Only problem is is our maxim and UT doesn't follow it.

It's cool to distract yourselves with a fluke play, but the entire game is where Freeze shined. And his staff.

Hopefully Butch will get tired of losing those kinds of games and change his philosophy..

Freeze went for the TD inside the 1 on 4th down. Got it, and won the game.

Saban went for it 4th down on the Ole Piss 30 early in the game.

Don't they read analytics?

Winners play to win.
Saban also sat started Barnett, which no one knows why.

You're putting too much into one play.

Ole Miss dominated the whole game. Freeze did an excellent job.

Bateman and Saban started him because he was supposed to be more mobile than Coker and completes 20% more of his passes than Coker does. Not saying it was a good decision but that was the reasoning.

What I said went over your head, obviously.

Again, you were another one absent during Ole Miss' bowl game?

Probably true. I think beating them back to back years is pretty big deal. That dont happen to Saban very often regardless of how.

Freeze wins Hands Down! Freeze is not afraid to go for the throat.

As of this point, yep. All Butch has to do is take note of this against a good opponent. Even is if we lose a big game where CBJ takes risk and plays for the kill I'll still be happy with it. I just want to see the effort, we got the talent, and have more coming. Got to get that killer mentality.

And against Ole Miss! I live in an area where everyone loves Ole Miss and for some reason I never thought I'd see the day where they would become such a good team. Cut me deep last year.

Yeah, Ole Miss is not a traditional powerhouse by any means.

Wow, some seriously good effort at keeping the average IQ around 100 on this board. Freshman are 18 year-old kids. Occasional exceptions, but most (even 4-5 stars, and especially linemen) need a year or two to be competitive against 21-22 year olds. How this isn't self-evident is beyond me. A mature, successful program doesn't take its 2 top 5 recruiting classes in a row and try to win conference titles with a bunch of freshmen. It sticks their butts on the bench, in a strength program, with liberal use of redshirts, to learn from 4-5 stars that are now redshirt sophomores and juniors and seniors. It's been said 1000000 times - CDD didn't recruit a SINGLE OL one of his years, and if people can't understand the hole we've been in the past 3 years on the OL and how it doesn't matter if you have 10 star skill players, you aren't going anywhere without a serious OL in this league - really no hope for you. Everyone is tired of being down, but it is no excuse for stupid rants about being tired of the excuses. CBR's first recruiting class was barely his - and nobody with a brain could not see the following 2 were stellar and at an entirely different level. In 2016 that group of kids will be in their second and third years in the program, in 2017 third and fourth years - a much higher level of talent top to bottom - like what we've seen at Bama for more years than I care to remember. Bama hasn't been winning so consistently playing true freshman and sophomores. CDD took us to the Bill Battle days from a roster standpoint. CJM was never the coach some reinvent him to be, but look at how long it took him to recover somewhat from Battle.

CBJ isn't perfect and doesn't walk on water - jury definitely still out on offense and game management. But this whole "tired of the excuses" internet tough guy thing is infantile, like 2 year olds screaming I want what I want. Makes VN sometimes a hard place to lurk around.

Sorry coach Jones. We didn't mean to upset you.

In 2 of his last 3 games last year he lost by 30 and 39 points.

Guess you all were quiet then.

You do realize that Arkansas finished shutting out LSU and ole miss right? They were as hot as anyone at the end of the year. Ole Miss also faced a pissed off TCU that would've hung 50 on UT in the bowl

He's beaten a top 2 Alabama squad both of the last 2 years.

You do realize that's bigger than ANY win Butch has ever had, right?

You think beating Iowa in the meaningless Taxslayer bowl is better? You are fighting a losing battle.

Freeze is clearly the better COACH. As a matter of fact, I'd say he's closer to Butch in recruiting than Butch is to him in coaching.

Butch is our coach. He'll have plenty of games to prove that he deserves to be here. But you're arguing silly stuff in a losing battle.

They dominated the whole game and won by 6. No, I'd say I am not putting too much into one play.

Tennessee dominated Oklahoma for about 2 quarters until Butch's hurry up and nothing offense drained his own defense in the fourth. Freeze actually won against Bama, TWICE.

So your point?

Just figured its a good question being there are coaches who get it done on game day who were in the same or in worse situations than us. Butch is great in recruiting and soliciting our brand but everytime a big game comes we act like we are going to win or make it a game and then coaching trips us up. Its like running a 100 meter dash and slipping on a pebble at the 90 meter mark. Now its time to look ahead to UF. I like our chances more this year than any other but I always have that thought lurking knowing its UF and they have our number. I do think Butch pulls this one out though.

I've got a feeling Butch is gonna turn it around Saturday in Gainesville. I think he goes for their throat and dosent let off the gas until the game is over.... I really don't know what is giving me this feeling, but I have it.
