Yeah. It was a half-hearted attempt to manifest a miraculous growth spurt that resulted in her becoming the female equivalent of Lew Alcindor. 😃

But speaking of growth spurts, I had a male friend who graduated college at the height of 5'6", and he grew to 6'1 3/4 in only ONE year after graduating. His frat brothers didn't even recognize him the following year at a big event the alumni hosted. 😲

Drinking all that Coors and Budweiser stunted his growth in college.

Fortunately for him, after he graduated, he started drinking craft beers.

Seriously though, when you think of how much and how many hours of work and thought and contact and travel goes into getting a top recruit just to make an official visit, yeah--I can certainly see that being an emotional moment when it all comes together and is realized in front of your eyes.

New recruiting classifications:

6'5 and up (just barely average height)

6'3 (short, hey how's the weather DOWN there?)

6'0 to 6'2 (should be hanging with Snow White and not playing b-ball)

5'8 to 5'11 (you should sue your parents for not giving you human growth hormone).

5'7 and below (not visible to the human eye)

So impressive as a person as well as a player. You want this girl on your team, in your locker room, in your community, and representing your school & program.

I hope all the intangibles come together for her and her family. I can't imagine her being more happy with any other coach, team, or program.

I’d expect the Rev share allocation is firm and known to Kim. The “open wallet“ you describe will need to be external from Vol Club or sponsors just like other universities.

That is an excellent point. If his already renowned drive and natural ease on the recruiting trail helps deliver a Final Four in the next few years, he very well could end up in a PRIME P4 head coach position instead of landing one of those respectable-but-still-an-up-and-comer-level position.

Another way to put it, if he hangs here long enough for the program to reach Final Four(s) again he could easily become the next Kim Caldwell. Like Kim, he might become a future hire for a top program that ends up surprising naysayers who are convinced not having years of D1 head coaching experience dooms them to failure.
