By far the worst one was the International Fellowship of Christians & Jews commercial soliciting donations for only Russian Jews who survived WWII, even though all Russians suffered during the war, not just the Jewish ones, with around 6,750,000 Russian soldiers and around 7,200,000 Russian civilians dying during the war with entire cities being leveled, villages and farms burned to the ground, etc. Eight out of every nine German soldiers who died during the war died fighting against the Soviets and the Russian people made immense sacrifices, but the only survivors that matter now are the Jewish ones. And the lady's delivery is the cringiest part of the whole ad. She's talking in a hysterical panic, like "SOMEONE NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING!!! OMG!!!"
But the worst one now is the same lady hysterically pleading for money for people in the Tel Aviv neighborhood that got hit by Iranian missiles. Most of us already give money to Israel. It's called American taxes. The people in downtown Tel Aviv are already well taken care of by the Israeli and American governments alike. And her hysterical delivery is so cringe.
Sally Struthers' ads for the starving Ethiopians back in the day weren't my favorite, but at least she was going to bat for truly desperate people and there's an actual possibility that the donations may have saved some lives.
