I think the 6 weeks for a broken bone is a little generous. Vandy and Kentucky, maybe a bowl game if they're lucky. Maybe just bowl game. Broke bone especially a thumb is going to be awful sore for a long time.

From what I understand he broke it at the base of the thumb, and it takes longer to heal than if it were higher up on his thumb. My aunt said 5 weeks is best case.

Hand, especially finger injuries suck. I've had a few, some linger for a year or more. Tore tendons and broken finger bones just hurt forever. Stay sore even longer.

I hope he gets back that soon but that is best case.

Lousiana Talent > Tennessee Talent

I'll never say that isn't a contributing factor. But maybe instead of everyone whining about not having enough top talent in Tennessee, we should actually lock up what we DO have. See rivals list of the top players in Tennessee, and guess how many of the top 20 we have? 1.....1 freaking player. The top player in the entire state this year is going to Vanderbilt. There are seven four star recruits coming out of Tennessee this year, that's about par for the course, and would be a great start to every recruiting class.

My questions would be

Has Hubbs ever coached football?
Has Hubbs ever played major college football?
Has Hubbs ever recruited?

Its always easy to judge when you are on the outside looking in

Best thing the Knoxville media could do is report the news and not report their opinions.

It wasn't a report by Hubbs. A poster on VQ took something he said out of context, and what the OP posted was Hubbs response to they guy.

interesting

The problem some of the Vol fans on here are having is they see Florida,Bama, and Auburn winning a national title after 2-3yrs having a new coach. Guys, we are and were in a little different state when Dooley came in. Meyer, Saban, and Chizik came into programs that posed top 10 recruiting classes the last several yrs with no attrition of players leaving. Let's calm down and let this play out. If some of you want to put heads on the block this time next yr then fine by me, but we have no room to put the blame on anyone right now.

His job is to make opinions on UT sports.

Wrong. They were in just as bad situations as us. Especially Saban. They just got better players their first couple years.

The year before Chavis got there, Les had co-defensive coordinators. Now, they have had two years under the chief to get his system installed. This year, he hired Craigthorpe(sp?) but he had to step down as coordinator. He's still there though contributing to the team. Les is a good example of a coach knowing when to fire poor assistants and upgrading what he had.

Dooley should take note. He has a lot, no, make that a heck of a lot of firing to do at the end of this season. If he wants to keep his own job, that is..

The 3rd down play was a bad job by Chaney on the play call, bad job by our offense not getting the play off, bad job by Dooley not calling the timeout. That play sucked but it didn't cost us the game.

I would rather have Tennessee athletes playing with more heart and less ability than to have players from different states with much ability and less heart. Heart wins you games boys.

In other words, you want UT to be an orange-clad Vanderbilt. Thank God you aren't in charge of this program.

My God, I hadn't seen that post yet. I'm not sure I've seen anyone advocate not recruiting out of state. That's a new one.

I'm amazed it took me that long to spot that stupidity myself. And that was only because another poster quoted it.
