Coming to Neyland

Hey guys, big Bama fan here. Before you start pelting me with tomatoes, I am not here to flame about the game this weekend, lolol. Looking forward to what I think will be another nail biter that could go either way. Either way, the sun will rise the next day and life will go on. My wife is a HUGE Tennessee fan, so for our anniversary next weekend, I am taking her to the UT vs USC game. I have always wanted to see a game in Neyland but never have been able to get tickets until now, so wanted to know if you guys can give me some suggestions as to parking. I saw where they run a shuttle service from Farragut High School parking lot. Is this the way to go? Also, are there any places to eat around the stadium (besides concessions). Looking forward to a great game Saturday and looking more forward to watching a game in you guys awesome stadium.

It depends are whether or not you are a patient person. Farragut is on the complete opposite side of town...

I've found the best thing to do is pay to park somewhere right off of the strip. It will cost about 20-25 dollars but you will be about 1 mile from the interstate after the game is over...

If you do the Farragut shuttle, you will have to wait for the shuttle, then wait for the shuttle to get through traffic...both on the strip and on the interstate, then it would have to take you to Farragut.....it would just add alot of time to the whole process...

So I would definitely just pay to park somewhere in the ****....if you're not sure where this is just get on Cumberlan Ave...a.k.a. the strip...and take a right. There will be plenty of places that are charging for parking

I would suggest that you head down to the strip and pay to park just to get the full gameday experience. The shuttle from Farragut will take a while.

Cool, will do. Any places to eat within walking distance? I will be leaving Bham, AL once my daughters soccer game ends at 10 am and will have to hussle up to check in at our hotel and get to stadium and not have time to stop and eat.

I can't imagine taking a shuttle from Farragut to a UT game. That would be one long ride. We've always just parked on or around campus and paid the money.

Does anyone know if the Ag Campus still do a shuttle? It's much closer and there was always parking.

EDIT: found this so there are some places much closer

UT encourages fans to use shuttle buses from the Knoxville Civic Auditorium and Coliseum and the UT Agriculture campus.

a lot of times the hotel where you're staying will have a shuttle as well, but then you're at the mercy of the shuttle again. i would park either on cumberland or take the henley street bridge across the river and park over there. its a longer walk, not much though, and its beautiful. you see neyland from the river and its about 1/2 to 1/3 of the cost to park over there and you won't get blocked in by some drunk who is taking his time to get back from the game. that has happened to me a few times on cumberland. i usually only pay like $10 to park across the river. thing is, you almost have to park over there early b/c there arent but just a couple businesses that allow you to park. ones a cellular place and the other is an older gas station. hope this is helpful.

I'll pile on and strongly recommend you NOT do the Farragut shuttle but suggest you park on the far end of Cumberland (away from downtown), eat a Bleu Cheese burger at the Old College Inn, then work it off by walking the mile or so to the stadium. It's a great walk up the strip, where everyone else will be pre-gaming and heading to the stadium anyway, and then a short trip on campus to the stadium. If you're parked at the far end of Cumberland, you should have an easier exit after the game.

Have fun (next Sat., not this Sat. of course).

you can park at the church to cant you??? I have always messed up on parking and generally park about 2 miles away and pay 20 bucks to do so, so I am looking for a new spot a little bit closer to...

Mellow Mushroom
Buffalo Wild Wings
McDonalds,Wendy's, Taco Bell, Krystal, etc
FireHouse Subs
Gus' Goodtimes Deli


aka... there is a lot of stuff there to be eaten.

yea you can but its still like $20 to park there. i usually just drive the extra 1/4 mile across the bridge and save $10. i am cheap tho. lol. we will more than likely park at the church or at that verizon place on heley. cumberland hasn't been good to me. i like that whole scene, but i have gotten blocked in a couple of times.

I appreciate the help fella's. I think we will just get on cumberland and find us a spot.......for our single wide, lolol. Looking forward to enjoying a game in your historic stadium.

Oh yeah the Copper Cellar/The Cumberland Grill is there...

And I can't remember the other pizza place there. It begins with an S and is bugging the hell out of me.... Of course there is also Jersey Mike's, etc....
