Comey Indicted

Liberal privilege makes liberal posters conveniently forget or tolerate past actions.
I know you think of me as a "liberal" poster. So I will tell you that I DO NOT regret drinking a mushroom smoothie with orange juice and raspberries before a 1983 Grateful Dead concert in Hampton, VA. Driving 2O hours with a teammate after winning a tournament in the early part of Spring Break in Natchidotches, TX. Sam Houston St was hosting. We had 3 days left before the end of Spring Break after Winter Quarter. We drove to Knoxville and picked up two other student athletes. None of us had seen the Grateful Dead. Jerry was there. No, I don't regret the weed and hallucinogens after we got there

Dumbass take. Do you really believe ,
Comey was making a foodservice reference? Even he said he thought it was a political message.

For a reasonable take on this absurdity that doesn’t absolve Comey of his idiocy, while still calling out the foolishness of these charges, read this:

Lol lawyer who argued no crime was required to impeach Clinton, and then argued that a crime was required to impeach Trump, says that James Comey doesn't have 1st amendment protection when using a colloquial phrase that means 'to get rid of or remove'

Shocking.

If you never worked in food serivce, you have no idea “86” has anything to do with food service.

If you ever watched a mob movie, you k ow it has to do with, well “permanant removal” of someone.

The distinction has nothing to do with that on which we wholly agree, which is that, at the moment, this has indictment surely appears to be complete and total vindictive trash.

I hope I am wrong. The idea that our executive has the ability to sh!t all over our constitution this way is abhorrent. And it will only get worse with each administration going forward, until the people make it stop.

I have watched a lot of mob movies... can you cite an instance where it was used in that context?

Not to argue, but did you read Turley’s last sentence? He specifically says Comey’s speech in this context should be protected.

To be honest, the only context I had ever heard the phrase was in the context of killing someone. In fairness, I never worked food service, so I learned that was an industry term here. (My work experience was cleaning public bathrooms, weed whacking kudzu at unlicensed parks along the river, and digging sewer ditches - all of which made me study all the harder to work in the A/C for a living…)

But, at least as far as quick google search goes:

Additionally, Newsday magazine used the term to refer to killing in the 1980’s and the NY Times used in in 1991 to refer to troops killed in action.

So, maybe it is a generational/industry thing. I’d never heard it as a food-service term until VN, but I had heard it referring to killing someone.

Regardless, this prosecution seems pretty stupid to me.

Maybe when the Dems and Obama were using the IRS to go after Republicans and conservatives they didn’t see the sh!t storm that was being created. The Twitter bans. The prosecutions and impeachments for nonsense wouldn’t do anything other than enrage the other side. Rudy. Bannon. Trump. The My Pillow Guy. Stephen Miller. Kiriakou. It seems like there just aren’t many with any common sense in the government anymore. Is Fetterman the only one that gets it? And the Dems will probably blow him out because he speaks out against the nonsense.

Not sure how that relates to a cigar being inserted into an intern, but here we are with a random story.

Tit for tat. Whole point is to bankrupt and shame individuals of the opposing party. They will never get any indictment with teeth. Probably one of the only things they agree on. Lords and lady's games.

Washington needs a giant enema.
Yeah, this is Trump & Co. getting a little retribution on Comey for the BS he pulled.
Hit him in his pocketbook and be a thorn in his side…. Everyone knows this is what it’s all about.
It doesn’t bother me in the least. Comey is a worm and is reaping what he’s sewn.

Talking yourself into this just like you talked yourself into the war, these types of people are why Trump just does whatever he wants

It doesn't matter if SOMEONE, in history, used "86" as slang for killing a person. What matters is Comey's intent and whether a reasonable person would think "86" in this context was some sort of message to someone to kill Trump.

No one in their right mind believes the latter, and there is zero evidence Comey actually meant it that way.

Other than Trump and his cult rubbing their hands in hunched over glee at making Comey wince, this is a complete waste of time and taxpayer money, not to mention an insult to basic First Amendment principles.

dude that's awesome. Pretty sure I've listened to that show

Well Jack Posobiec has 3.3M followers and his account End Wokeness has 3.9M more, how many people do you think are following James Comey on Instagram?
196000. Like I said I might live under a rock. Also I'm not arguing for or against the Comey indictment. Just saying I hadn't heard that before
