"He can really play. But it ain’t like we have a need for him. Hell, we’re having a hard enough time as it is finding enough guard/wing minutes to go around between Reeves, Wagner, Edwards, Sheppard and Dillingham."

We're at that time of the year where UK fans are overly confident. "But it ain't like we have a need for him" is the best part.

"Knecht didn't want to compete. He wanted a guaranteed starting spot and a lot of shots.

UK couldn't offer him that."

They know very little about Barnes if they truly believe he had a spot guaranteed. Coach Barnes isn't like Cal he doesn't set his lineups by whoever was the highest ranked 5 star. Spots are earned in practice and in the games. Also our team is deeper than the Kitty Cats and Knecht truly took a gamble coming here because shots aren't guaranteed under Coach Barnes and minutes certainly aren't either.

Considering that Kentucky is a team of mostly unproven (but talented) freshmen, the idea Knecht wouldn’t want to “compete” for a starting spot is funny. He probably would have had an easier shot at UK than here since we return so many upperclassmen. Wouldn’t expect anything less from that fanbase though.

Knecht wanted a coach to push him, not babysit his azz and tell him he's "definitely NBA-type player"..Coach Calipari is NOT like Coach Barnes AT ALL..They attract AND recruit totally different players..And they develop them TOTALLY differently as well...JMHO

This entire thread is so obvious, I am surprised a thread even was made about it.

No clue if knecht was recruited by kentucky, but he'd be starting for us, them, and everyone else in the country. If he wasn't, it'd be coaching malpractice and that coach's job should be called into question. Maybe that's why they're happy he didn't go to kentucky.

Kentucky fans can say what they want. But i bet Cal. would of took Knecht in a minute. Cal know how good he is.

KY had nothing to be ashamed of against Kansas. By February they could be a handful. I still think we win the conference, but it won’t be easy.
Yep. At some point, you have to worry that UK will pull in a class that will be the next "fab 4" and it all comes together. Wouldn't it just be a kick in the nads if it were to happen this year considering the potential of our team?

All fan bases have their idiots. Most of the fan base spins the message and feels like they are the personal PR department of the school! That is all this is.

If they just had one long post defender to hinder Dickinson they win that game easy. They have two 7 footers that are suppose to be blended in. Not sure just how good they are but if they are decent Ky could be tough.

By the time we face them our post presence should be gelling three or four deep.

Interesting to see who starts when they get healthy. I thought Kentucky's advance was their speed and ability to get into the lane. With 2 bigs in there, those lanes will not be there.
