Why does everyone always go on and on about how much Phil loves Tennessee? I just don’t get it. To me, he’s always come across as a stubborn guy with a big ego who mainly cares about his own personal successes. Do you really think Fulmer was rooting for Tennessee in 2009 when Kiffin was coaching? He was a really good recruiter for the first half of his career but he typically underachieved compared to the talent he had. Plus, the game had clearly passed him by by the end of his tenure as coach. Now here we are 12 years later...do you really trust him to hire a young, innovative coach who can come into this mess and actually have success? The one guy he has hired basically wants to bring back 1960’s style football, which doesn’t give me much hope for another Fulmer hire.
