I'm a Jayhawk, but my love for Tennessee and Bruce Pearl make me a fan of Tennessee basketball. I loved watching Pearl at UW-Milwaukee, and knew Tennessee was headed for good things when you hired him.

I usually just drop by to read, but I wanted to post just this once.

Somebody on here talked about this loss showing you can't "run with the big dogs."

Well, we are the big dogs, and I'm here to tell you this loss is NOT the end of the world any more than a win over Memphis will be the world's biggest. It's just one regular season game.

Last year, Kansas lost to Oral Roberts--at home! That didn't keep us from being one road game at UCLA away from the Final Four.

We also beat Florida. But they won the National Championship, not us.

You can't get too high or two low about ONE regular season game, especially if you play in a GOOD CONFERENCE like the SEC. The six-game winning streak at the end of the year is the one that counts and games like you just lost can help you be prepared for that!

So, good luck, Vols! I'm hoping to see you in the Championship game.:dance2:

ROCK CHALK!

thanks for your post. I'm still having a hard time coping with the lost from last night. I wouldn't have been half as upset if we had lost to a team that didn't have a losing record. When Gardner-Webb beats Kentucky and we can't it really really bothers me.

They where playing alot different against us than when they lost to GW and San Diego. We will even the score when they come to Thompson.

If it makes you feel any better, if UT had caught UK when Garnder Webb played them they would have beaten them by 40 points. UK is a far better team with Meeks and Jasper in the lineup.

UT shot 39% on the road and was still in the game. They just showed poor shot selection down the stretch. We will be fine...I promise.

Jasper and Meeks gave that team a boost. I can imagine the reaction in TBA will be similar when Duke takes the floor (would have been nice to have about 8 minutes out of him last night)

I'm not sure I will ever be able to understand jacking up crazy shots when Patterson and Stevenson had 4 fouls and were both on the floor.

I agree... the 2 minutes of game play between 3:00 and 1:00 is completely confusing to me still this morning...I just don't understand it.

Tyler should have been pounding it at Patterson all night. It's like they were afraid of having their shot blocked.

Welcome to the boards. :hi:

I agree with you. It was a regular season loss which in BBall is a learning experience to hopefully better prepare you for the tournament. Would have been nice to get the win but not the end of the season.
