Seriously, with everything that's happened this season, it was a loss to the 6th ranked team in the nation that put the Vols in the Bottom 25? And what's even more remarkable about that is that JG wasn't on the field for even one play.I noticed today we made the new 'Bottom 25' in the new college football rankings but yet we are talking about a bowl game. Unreal
All double digits loses. 6 in a row and possible 7 with A&M if candy bails. There shouldn't be a bowl game as a reward for that kind of performance
have we lost 7 games? i thought we were 2-6....?He, and all of the coaches, should decline the bonus with a sense of self-awareness that they as coaches did nothing to make this team "bowl eligible" with a 3-7 record.
Again, if Fulmer were good at his job, he'd decline a bowl invite for a 3-7 record, for the sheer fact that accepting it means that the university has to pay Pruitt an additional $200,000, and all of the assistant coaches get a bonus equal to 8.33% of their annual pay.
I want Pittsburgh in the Birmingham Bowl.from KNS.
USA TODAY: Birmingham Bowl (Jan. 1) vs. Pittsburgh
CBS (Jerry Palm): Birmingham Bowl (Jan. 1) vs. UAB
Stadium (Brett McMurphy): Gasparilla Bowl (Dec. 26) vs. Boston College
The Athletic (Stewart Mandel): Liberty Bowl (Dec. 31) vs. Oklahoma State
247Sports: Birmingham Bowl (Jan. 1) vs. Memphis
Saturday Down South: Music City Bowl (Dec. 30) vs. Maryland
CollegeFootballNews.com: Music City Bowl (Dec. 30) vs. Wisconsin
Sporting News: No bowl
Based on a article in the Knoxville News I just read the whole staff has waived any bonus they would receive if invited to a bowl. The savings would be around $325,000.
That's sporty of them.
