Colquitt

When a Colquitt baby boy is born, they must immediately begin moving his leg in a punting/kicking motion to get it stretched and ready for action.

You know who is returning punts for Cal, right?

We need Colquitt healthy.

I hear you... but, then, you don't think they were going to let Colquitt punt it anywhere near the guy if he was healthy...

So, basically, our only worry is if the backups can't manage to miss the one part of the field where he's at.

Hell. I'm kind've cheered up now.

heard on the radio (104.5 the Zone in Nashville) this morning that Colquitt's dad said his leg is worse than the coaching staff will lead you to believe. Whoever is our punter for the Cal game, he better be able to punt out of bounds.

From reports, Britton will punt against Cal, but not kick. Or at least that anything else would be a pleasant addition.

And there is one more Colquitt. As noted, he is a freshman in HS. I think Maryville HS and he is averaging 40 yards a punt in practice already.

I think we'll be okay. Lincoln won't produce many touchbacks, but kickoff coverage won't be the main key in this game. Desean can't take every kick back for a TD.

Anyone else think Colquitt looks a lot like Steven Gerrard?

yeah i agree, but I'd be surprised if he (or best) didn't have one major return. They've been ripping it up in practice (maybe our kickoff coverage stinks :))

always tough to tell which is which. When the D does well the O stinks and vice-versa. We'll find out shortly...

Last year i'd say our kickoff coverage was just OK. Our punt coverage was pretty good, but a lot of that was due to larson (our punter) having really good hangtime.

The same has been happening in our practices(big returns). I think the two will offset, even though ya'll prolly have the best returner.

Either way, it wouldn't surprise me if you guys didn't have a big return. I doubt we will straight up kick it to one of your returners. We will have some sort of strategy ready.

i think huge returns are pretty common in summer practice... i have to assume the coaches tell the coverage teams to take the 'edge' off their enthusiasm so as to avoid injuries. there has to be a reason theres so many extra td returns (not just this year, but in years past i've noticed that too)
