Colorado transfer CB Colton Hood commits to UT

Laughable that TN Atl dept blurred out the QB that threw the pick. Oh no - we might bruise someone’s ego.

One of the softest things I ever seen from the football program.

I have a better idea - just close practice entirely. lol. Because there are sooooo many secrets and surprises that coaches roll out every year.

It's laughable that this was such a big deal, and misreported. The blurred player wasn't the quarterback who threw the ball, it was a TE working in a red jersey no-contact jersey. Apparently Tennessee has been blurring out no-contact players for quite a while now, so they don't give away anything to opponents during game weeks. It doesn't matter much this time of year, but I guess they're sticking to protocol.

Practice is practice, even for the media group!

Looks to me like we have used the portal a bit ... to address our needs. 🤷
Have you seen the receiver room? How the hell do you enter the season with 7 scholarship receivers? Especially considering the mountain of injuries they’ve had. Heck, they lost more WRs in the off season than they kept. I’m sorry, but that’s terrible roster management.

LOL. This is a DB thread. 😆

There’s all kind of stuff sprinkled through this one, NIL, Basketball, you stole my ex girlfriend… we’re starting to eat our own.
Go back thru and you will find the vast majority of off task posts are initiated by the snarky brigade…..that should tell you something. Agendas are what they are!

I’m all about keeping things close to the vest. Instead of blurring don’t even show the guy if you can avoid it.

Tennessee sports have benefited from the portal far more than we’ve been hurt by it.

Knecht, Lanier, Jakobi, Amick, Doyle, Fischer, Hooker, Milton, Bru, J. McCoy, ONL, Pili, Hadden, Heard…some of the biggest stars in football, basketball, and baseball in the last decade have come from the portal.

There have been a few noteworthy losses…Aidoo, Awaka, Nico, Chase Burns, TooToo…but really nothing major that comes close to mitigating the positive influx of talent we’ve brought in through the portal.

I think Hood will be another.
Yeah, that's a good point. Would have liked to hold Awaka for last year. We were a bit thin in the post after losing JPE. Could have been a little that could have gotten over the hump. Maybe? But, all in all the Xfer portals have been a net + for us. We'll see in the next couple months about the highest profile one of all.

I thought we missed Awaka more than any other transfer loss last year. He was such a great culture fit and would filled our biggest hole last year. The real shame of it is that if Carr had left earlier, Awaka would’ve stayed.

Yeah Carr was obviously too mentally soft to carry us deep. But Awaka was that enforcer and rebounder with an up and coming offensive game that may have given our offense at least SOME inside-out opportunities. Once JP was gone our post offense was reduced to put backs and lobs. Felix was a year away even though they tried him there early. What might have been.

Concerning for sure. But, Heupel doesnt rotate WRs in game so we should be ok...maybe... 🤷‍♂️

To this point none of the projected starters have been on the practice field together at the same time. Brazzell has yet to be out there. And that’s with a new QB. 3 of your 7 scholarship receivers are true freshman. How in the heck they can afford to let Squirel walk away, or Webb, or any of those serviceable guys is a mystery. There were a ton of receivers out there in the portal. WTH?
