Colorado school shooting leaves 'multiple' victims, at least 2 in custody, sheriff's office says

@DancingOutlaw so you were in the back on the west wing? Ever happen to loose punch cards out the window at the end of the quarter or were you there after punch cards?
We faced Andy Holt Ave. by the east stairwell. We “lost” several dozen eggs out the windows. Made the crime log. Never hit anyone, never tried to. It was funny though to land an egg two feet from someone, and by the time they processed what was happening the second one was on its way.

We used to "lose" dead racquetballs out our window. I used to be able to basically drop a paper airplane out the window and the swirl would carry it up over the building. When were you there?

Zep and many of the other young folks qpuld be surprised by this and more. They are force fed liberalism, now even socialism, and told if they dont go along they are racists or homophobes. So far from the truth.

Zep, as you know, I am a Bible believing Christian, and not really old (just turned 42, probably seems old to you..but for example i still work out 4 days a week, shaped the same i was in HS, and my wife is still hot as a match bc she is, too) my personal beliefs you would find very conservative, and not agree with at all. Thing is, like most, i know those only apply to ME. While i always vote conservative, because what the dems want is insanity, i have no desire to push anything that i believe on you or anyone else. You ca not legislate morality. Period. Nearly all of the conservatives here have some seriously libertarian type beliefs...and very few identify as republican. If any. We just end up voting republican. Joe is the only other one here i am 100% sure would vote repub based solely on his beliefs. The vast, vast, majority of people who vote conservative do not care what anyone does in their bedroom, what color they are, what sex they are, where they live or what they own. They dont hate or want to oppress anyone, they dont have a hidden agenda. Here is what matters to us:

1. Keep your hands off my sheit. My income, my family, my home, my guns...all of it. I worked hard for it. I will protect it. Just leave me and mine alone.

2. Everyone else should take responsibility for their actions, possessions, well being etc just like i do. We are far from rich. We handle our own though. You should, too.

3. Nobody deserves a "quota" affirmative action is discrimination. All people should be hired, fired, admitted to school, etc based on what they can do. Nothing else. Period. People sometimes need a "hand up" nobody deserves a "hand out" generational welfare is theft. Period.

4. Freedom. A man should be able to do anything he wants to in the pursuit of life, liberty, and happiness as long as it doesnt harm another mans person or property, or pose a serious and real danger to the public.

5. Freedom of religion. Self explanatory. Even as a believer, religion has no place in government. The ethics and morality stemming from the 10 commandments etc are a good thing though IMO, in general they all go back to the Golden Rule. Treat others as you wish to be treated.

Thats pretty much it. The rest of us see other issues in different ways, and want different things. Those are the things we all tend to have in common
These are in no way compatible with socialism, a nanny state, income redistribution, etc...those ideas are entirely unAmerican. Most of us here just want to be left the hell alone. Liberals want the opposite. They want a say in every aspect of what we do. It isnt going to happen, hopefully, in my lifetime. It will be the downfall of our country just like socialism has destroyed every other country who implemented it. As you get older, and have a home, a family, etc...your views will change. Everyone's does. Thankfully
Since you responded with such a thought out post, I thought I'd respond as well. I don't post in the political forum every day, hence the delay. I have to take breaks from the forum so I don't start hating the entire board lol.

And 42 isn't old.

I wasn't indoctrinated. I'm from a Republican family in a very Red state. I came to my beliefs all by my lonesome.

I don't have an issue with Christians, I was Protestant growing up. Catholic in college and a few years after. I'm a weird Buddhist/atheist combo now, but once a Catholic, always a Catholic I guess, even lapsed. I don't think most Christians personally want their beliefs pushed on others. My problem is the people they put in power. And those people absolutely want to control everything. Look at the stupid abortion laws popping up in Bama, Georgia, and Missouri. Or prayer in school. Or the marriage act floating around the Tennessee House. The list goes on and on. The theocratic tendencies of the right concern me.

I agree with everything but 3 and part of 5. The Ten Commandments are not necessary in government. Those are religious laws, and have no place in secular society. That is a debate for another time. And I guarantee that basically every liberal will say the same thing I just said.

We already have socialism and income redistribution. It is called the tax code. Wealth is redistributed to the top earners. Money is given to people to have children. Money is given to people to join the military. There is plenty of socialism on the books already. Bernie and friends aren't going to throw us into a bread line, ration card society.

The thing I took most from your post, and my thoughts as well, is that basically everyone wants to be left alone. Seems like a good place to start.

I moved in there Fall 01 and stayed for that year. In spring they started renovations of the building and parked a dumpster under our buddies window. They were also on 13. We threw about everything we could think of into that dumpster.

I think I was in 1302.
They took Andy Holt down to the bedrock. I lived in 1311 for 3 years. The number of roaches that either died or fled could be counted in the billions.
I was in 526. We moved in before it was even finished. They were still sheet rocking in the hallways. This was Fall of 1970. At that time, the men were on the lower floors (I think through 7 maybe) and the women on the top half.
