That's way out of date. RealTimeRPI has our RPI at #7, which is the highest RPI of all teams in the SEC. Wait until CBSSportsLine's next update - we should jump up substantially.CBSSPORTSLINE.COM has us #16 or #17 RPI and #4 SOS. They are projecting us a #7 seed along with Duke. I haven't checked espn.com so I don't know what they are saying.

I think we are a five seedright now and if we choke the first game against LSU. We beat LSU and the second game (Ole Miss?) and lose a close one against FL and FL goes on and wins the tourney, then we go to a 4 seed. If we beat FL, the we should win the whole thing because everyone in the top bracket sucks and that should put us at a 3 seed. Didn't think that last second tip in at Vandy would cost us so much at the time. We would be ranked right now, have a 2 seed in the tourney and have a fairly easy road to the finals and then have a good chance at a #2 seed in the big tourney.
RPI is a specifically-defined calculation, there are no subjective parameters that can influence the calculation. The only thing that influences the calculation is the exact point in time when you calculate it. The reason for differences across the sites is related to when the particular website calculates it.The rpi's of every sports web site is different....some have us as low as #20 and as high as #8....i'd say right now we have an rpi of 10 and our seed is prolly 6....but the sec tournement will defiantely change those numbers:salute:
they're not ranked 4th in the rpi because they havent been 4th all year. UT has been 7th since they beat UF though. One RPI was out today during a game on ESPN and Tennessee was not ranked 4th in it like they were after the game on Tuesday night. Tennessee is at worst a 5 seed, regardless of what happens. If Tennessee wins the first two games, Tennessee is a lock for a 4 seed. If Tennessee only wins one, Tennessee still has a good shot at a 4.
