...since the Carter Administration...40 year funk vs the Gators.
A bit over the top. UT owned the gators for most of the history. Doug Dickey returned them to relevance and Spurrier took them on higher. The current record is something like 19-25 in the gator's favor and that was built on 10 years in a row with 30% under Dooley and another 20% under his recruiting classes. With the resurgence of Miami, UF is about to return to irrelevance.
The interesting thing about the pick is that it basically says what you guys said. There's no real reason to pick UF.... except that UT hasn't beaten them for 10 years.
You didn't read all that stuff about their defense shutting down an SEC opponent by basically tossing them all over the field? Most people who pick uf cite their defense and their home field. I think UT would be 10 point favorites if this game were in Knoxville.

You do realize you are talking about UK, right? Not surprised you didn't want to mention which SEC opponent. To add just a bit of perspective, UK had the least total O vs USCe of any of their opponents. So let's not pretend that UK's O is a juggernaut loaded with next level talent...
I still don't understand the score. 23-21?? I'm sorry but Florida won't score four times against UT. If UF wins, and they very well may, it will be to the tune of 14-10 or so.
Every evaluation of our program should read...until coach jones decides to have his team play and attack for 60 minutes, were picking the opponent. We've blown every lead we've had during jones tenure so far against good opponents. And that includes the only good wins (usc). In bith wins we blew big leads before being able to come back.

So getting two defensive TD's against a team with 1 turnover through three games is very easy?
Have you watched the Tennessee-Florida series over the years? Florida has been great at scoring in unconventional ways.
Last week Dobbs threw two balls late to the flat vs WCU that would've been interceptions vs Florida, perhaps even pick 6s. Also, their pass rush is outstanding....I could very easily see a Dobbs sack and fumble going the other way...kinda like in the OU game when we lucked out and the refs called the play dead early. I could also see a special teams TD or 2 for Florida. They CAN get to 23-24 points without doing a whole lot offensively....it's happened many times before in this series.
