It's funny though how the FCS is able to do this...and it doesn't take anything away from their regular season.

4 teams is better than nothing. But 8 is best IMO. It would be the biggest sporting event after the Super Bowl.

My only "meaningful" thoughts on this topic:

Most all arguments against a playoff are based on speculation as to how bad it would be.
Most all arguments for a playoff are based on fact as to how good it already is.

If you've already won the conference, it would make the last game or 2 irrelevant.

Then each conference should have a championship game.

Still doesn't change that much. Neither Florida State or Auburn would have been must win games for UF and Bama, respectively.

Plus 1 would work out pretty well this year. In one game you've got the winner of UF-Bama vs. Cincinnati. In the other game Texas vs. TCU. Tough luck, Boise.
