College Hoops Around The Country [TN opponents, RPI, others]

Without orange colored glasses Auburn looks like best team in the conference. We are right there as next crop with bama, Florida, and UK. I think TAM, Miss St look really good too. To get that elusive 1 seed we gotta find a way to win 2-3 games on the road this year while holding serve at home. LSU and vandy most obvious and then hopefully win one of Ole Miss, Texas, or OU.

Tennessee went to Illinois and won in front of one of the most hostile crowds this season. Florida crowd will be no more rowdy than Illinois was. Tennessee wins by 6 points or more. Florida may score but they gave up 106 to Kentucky.

Actually , I’m kind of Pearl fan lol. But Barnes is better x and o coach . Not worried bout the barn. If this game was on a neutral floor Vols win. Being down there going be a tough one.
I don't disagree, but the idea Auburn isn't a good team/strong team/special team (pick your adjective) as a few on here are saying is absurd. The metrics prove it.

Think you’re missing what others are saying. Auburn is a very talented team with a POY candidate in Broome and an experienced coach in Pearl. They appear capable of beating anyone and being a national championship caliber team.

What they appear to lack is discipline and focus. They’re dancing around on court sometimes while a shot is still in the air instead of getting in rebounding position. I didn’t see their loss, but I could see them panicking late in a game and down on the scoreboard. Guess we’ll see as I may be completely off base with my impression. JMO

Auburn has played the #8, #3, and #2 defenses in the country and are 2-1 in those games. The idea that they haven't played good defenses or can't play tough is honestly ridiculous.

Random thought, are the broadcast microphones in TBA just put in extremely weird places? I’m watching the Alabama game right now, and that place sounds deafening on TV and it’s pretty well documented that Coleman isn’t THAT loud of an environment.

Today’s game against Arkansas sounded like church league basketball at times on TV, but Calipari commented in the post game presser about how good our crowd was so I’m curious if the mic placement is just not doing TBA justice these past few years.

There’s something funky about how they broadcast the games.

All the talk after yesterday is about 2 teams with no defense, UK and UF. People just love offense. I saw so many uncontested 3 point shots in that game on both sides, it was a 3 point shooting competition. I don't know if this Vols team can beat either of them but I know they will not get those types of shots. Shooting percentages drop by 18% between a guarded and unguarded 3 point shot.

Auburn is the team that scares me the most. We tend to do poorly against teams that can get on massive hot streaks like them, especially if we aren’t hitting 3s.

Saw a mock draft today that had Broome at #29. Seemed a little low.
Will you never learn - he’s too old!

But seriously, I wonder if he’s undersized to play around the basket for the NBA? He’s a good outside shooter for a college big man so he’s got that going for him. I was surprised him and Sears didn’t enter the draft last year - guess they didn’t get first round draft grades?

I think both were hoping a championship would improve their draft stock, and were getting enough NIL to make the risk of injury/worse performance/team underperforming worth it.

Trust the Coach and the Staff until they prove you wrong.
They have not disappointed yet.
