College Gameday ESPN

That was all pretty true and reasonable. Plus, for a team that "isn't" supposed to be good, it was nice to see us in the first 20 minutes of Gameday. Exposure!

So, if we go 4-4 in the first eight, will Corso finally retire? He can't even read his own teleprompter notes.

While I agreea little, the guy had a stroke in the off season last year. Not being a smart@ss, just saying.....

He gets paid to read and watch football. There is no excuse for a mess up.

Oh I know and agree he should step aside. I just feel sorry for him. Watch how Kirk has to help him a lot, finish his thoughts for him.

I feel bad that he had a stroke, but when you have to squint that much to try and read its time to step down. I dont want to see him go but everyone has a time.

Well said. I am curious as to who they'd get to replace him. I think they should reduce his role on the show and bring him on at the end to do his helmet prediction...

Watched the whole segment, they were going through a long list of coaching debuts (5-10 seconds each) and saved Tenneessee for last. Showed 1-2 minutes of practice films with CDD miked and several interview segments that talked about the team's youth & inexperience. I thought that the tone was surprisingly respectful for CDD (No "out of his league" , "17-20 in the WAC", etc.). Then they went around the table giving assessments on our record for the season (6-6 was the consensus).

I was encouraged to see that ESPN was willing to give us this much coverage when we have been largely irrelevant in the national media lately. Anyone else notice that the UT vs. UT-M betting line was ENTIRELY MISSING from USA Today?

Anyway - I may be looking through Orange colored glasses, but IMO the "ESPN Hates US" crowd will have a hard time putting today's coverage up as evidence.

As a side note - How do you think our previous "Media Hound" coach felt when Chris Fowler mis-pronounced his name? :)

So true. And it's only week 1, and the guy can barely get of a coherent sentence. Someone needs to step in and relieve him of his duties. It's painful to watch.

Also, I just saw Fowler say that now the NCAA has said Masoli is only eligible for the 2011-2012 season. Is ESPN really that behind?

It would be better for him to figure out how he plans on stopping Teams this season rather than whining about his name.

I know alot of us think ESPN hates us with a bleeding passion, but they know that Tennessee is a top program and that college football is a better place if we are relevant!!
