A few friends of mine partied all night on Beale Street and were too liquored up to make the Game Day at 11 AM. They were heading back to the parties.

U of Memphis needs to learn about how to deal with the sun shining on their blue faces (and not on their hind ends)...their coach's mouthing about Coach Pearl, complaining about scheduling, trying turn this into amateurs night then keeping the UT fans out of the FedEx Forum for ESPN Game Day speaks volumns about where they are as a program.

oh boohoo

For as much talk on the board about whiney fans this is sad.

So what, a home team that was hosting Gameday did its best to ensure the school was supported. A chance that a smaller school that doesn't get many chances for National exposure to enjoy it. What is wrong with that?

Get over it, maybe when tennessee can host one you will have an easier time getting there.

After reading that article, I realize how bush league Memphis State is after all. I don't remember Tennessee keeping the Florida fans off of the ramps when Gameday came to Knoxville.

Nice ploy Memphis State, just like your coach, classless.

About the only folks who are going to stand in line at 5 AM are going to be students. While UT has an alumni presence in Memphis, I really don't think too many of them are going to get up at that hour to be on television.

A couple of years ago at the Louisville @ Memphis gameday, there were few if any Cardinals fans and few if any complaints.

While Memphis UT fans will turn out for football, UT is a good 400 miles from Memphis, and there just aren't that many UT basketball fans in that part of the state.

What ESPN wanted to do was show the the In State rivalry can be friendly. And This is not adding to that reputation. After Calapari calling Bruce, and our team, and the scheduling officials out, then the Smack talk, and Hype around Memphis Junior College? The least you could do is try to settle your reputation around your program? But instead they ignored ESPN, and I think they will hear about it over the next year. If they made the Crowd half and half, it would show that the State is a good clean basketball state, and break barriers on Rivalries. But instead Memphis Junior College wants to be private and keep things their way. Shame on them I guess....

We got down to the forum about 10:30 or so. When we walked up we ended up doing about four different interviews with different tv stations and newspapers. They said they had been waiting on some Vol fans to come up so they could have some of them in the story as well. Channel 8, 10,from Knoxville, commercial appeal and ESPN all talked to us. I asked Reese Davis if he thought there would be this much hype for the awarding of the Iron Bowl trophy at the Alabama v. Auburn game tomorrow. He laughed and said there would be more people at the resteraunt for lunch than will show up tomorrow. The atmosphere here guys is a lot like a Tennessee v. LSU game in Knoxville. I know that is bold, but it is insane up here!!!!
