College football regular season win totals are out

Tough call. There are the 6 games that we should win, so it's tempting to take the over and think that we will win just one against FL, GA, LSU, Bammer, USCjr or AR. I think if you asked most of Volnation, they would say we win at least one of those. To someone's point, I can see that line venturing up to 7.0 in a hurry.

IMO, that's why its at 6.5 not 6 or 7.

Considering we're the early dog on each of those games, its really hard for Vegas to just give us that extra win. Keep in mind that Vegas is there to make money and they dont care about loyality or heart. More often than not they hit these o/u.

Lines move, though, as the money falls. If a lot more bettors take the over, the line will move up to 7 or 7.5; at that point, when a lot more bettors take the under, the line will move back down. Moving lines is exactly how good oddsmakers make great money.

your theory is correct but the problem is that in reality it takes a big number of bettors placing money one way or another for the line to move. 6.5 is in no-man's land and considering the remainder of the games we're already dogs, there wont be enough bets one way or another to move it.

LULZ @ Auburn being at 6.

There is major juice on the over. But look at their schedule. They play:

Miss St
@Clemson
@Carolina
@Arky
Florida
@LSU
Ole Miss
@Georgia
Alabama

Is it so crazy to think they lose six or seven games?

And if you were laughing at Auburn and not Vegas, I apologize.

Last year I had a hard timing seeing 4 wins, with a couple missed plays they could have doubled that to 8. So this year I'll take over on 6.5-- easy, until the line moves to 7.

UT - I'll definetly take the Over..... Last years team was very young and very inexperienced and was still within a couple of plays of almost making it an 8-5 season...I think this years team, although still on the young side, has learned alot in a short amount of time and will be able to suprise a few teams....I'm also banking on some serious conditioning by McKeefery to play a factor with our players strength and endurance. sorry, but I'm always the eternal optimist and i do drink the orange koolaid regularly...

As for others:
SC - Under
Bama - Under

Over on UT.
Under on UGA (I'd be a large sum of money on that one)

Those are the two that really stand out to me.

Under on Notre Dame.

UGA's schedule is what worries me. You're asking them to go no better than 4-4 vs. Boise, vs. Carolina, @Ole Miss, vs. Miss St, @Tennessee, vs. Florida, vs. Auburn, @Georgia Tech. That's not exactly murderers row.

I can see four losses there, but I could also see five wins.

I think Boise throttles UGA as does South Carolina. That'll be a pretty demoralizing start to the season. Losses to MSU, UT, and UF will seal the deal. Hard to predict Auburn, so I'll stay away from that one.

I do not subscribe to the notion that we're supposed to root for SEC schools OOC, especially those that are in the SEC East. Maybe in bowl games, but I will be rooting for Boise all. the. way on September 3rd.

I don't necessarily disagree with your W/L prediction, but UT, MSU, and Carolina are probably all tossup games for Georgia, so that 7-5 could move to 10-2 (with losses to Boise and Florida) without much difference in the actual play.

This is a reasonable statement.

Kentucky would settle for six, prob. They just want to beat UT, break the streak and sneak in a bowl.

Oh, wait, they say they outrecruited us and have more star players, so I must be wrong.
