Talking about freak players and Taylor Mays #1. then a list of 10 and no Eric Berry. WOW ESPN realy is quality on being fair and balanced.

In all the words I've ever used to describe ESPN, balanced hasn't been one of them.

Berry isn't a freak. He's a great football player, period. Taylor Mays, at 230 playing SS in college, is a freak. He's David Fulcher with better wheels.

Exactly. ESPN would probably readily admit that Berry is at least as good of a ollege football player.

Why would Eric Berry be a freak player? He is average build with incredible talent. Mays is too big to be that fast. He has freakish athletic ability.

I haven't seen it, but I assume their (ESPN) criteria was similar

no, surely not. it makes to much sense to come to the conclusion that ESPN is the lead in a multi network conspiracy to thwart the Tennessee Athletic Department, specifically football and men's basketball.

what were you thinking?

Eric Berry really isnt a freak though, he is just a stud. He is about the right size for his position.

There's also always some...well college football reporters and shows tend to reward/promote/show the good players from the teams that have good records, kinda similar to the way the college awards do that you're only as good as your record

I'm having a hard time explaining/wording it, but you know, like that "players on the better record/ranked teams get more face time in the college football world"

They were also talking about were Robert Marve should go, Tennessee or Purdue. The guy said he should go to Purdue because they put QBs in the NFL.

i dont think anybody sends QBS to the nfl , whoever is lucky enough to get the elite QBS are just along for the ride ,i would say that most of the QBS in the nfl probably come from alot of different schools, i meen is any one school QB U ?

the funny part was when Saunders said. "Anyone heard of Drew Brees?" or something along those lines.

What pissed me off is they were actively recruiting Marve to Purdue. Not that it is a great loss if he doesn't go here.

Their parting shot was "Purdue puts players in the NFL from that position." but fail to mention that the OC that did so is at Tennesssee now.

They talked about it for 5 minutes and failed to mention that his dad played for Monte. Not only was it one-sided, but they didn't do their homework.

they are talking about physical freaks in terms of strength and agility, etc. Berry isn't a freak although he is one of the best players in the country. Orakpo and terrance cody are freaks if ur lookin for examples.

It's not like these guys know a lot about college football. They're just given note cards and told to read them on air.

Perhaps, but the only positive thing we have going at Tennessee is 100,000 fans ... give me a break.

And i noted the "Opryland" shot. As if West Lafayette is a booming metropolis.

Saunders and Cunningham in no way are going to lean towards UT. Saunders is a hockey guy from Michigan, and Cunningham played at UCLA if im not mistaken. So, who cares what these guys think. They get paid to read a teleprompter and say what somebody else wrote. Tennessee is going to have to earn everything we get from here on out. I wouldn't have it any other way.:superman:

We went 5-7 last year. We were terrible. What do you expect from ESPN?

I am more concerned about results rather than hype. If we win we will get the hype. Trust me.

I couldn't agree more. I'll take winning over the hype all day. CLK needs to understand that as well. He is still talking and he hasn't won a game yet. Win, then talk all you want to.

Cunningham said he should go to Purdue because 8 wins was good enough there and 8 wins at Tennessee would get a coach fired. The Purdue QB thing was more like "and it's not like going to Purdue means you can't get to the NFL" than "Purdue is a better QB school than UT".

Some of you will stretch into some bizarre contortions to claim that ESPN has a personal vendetta against us. Chill out.
