Colin Cowherd today mentions Kiffin

The shots he's been firing across other school's bows.... He's got to prove something here before his agent's phone rings again..
True.....i feel like this is his last real shot at proving he can cut it as a head coach. Screw this up and he's back somewhere out west as a OC. He has much to prove and a depleted and young team to deal with. He's got plenty of unfinished business here before he can think about moving on to greener pastures.

Count me as a Cowherd fan. I view Sports Talk Radio as a necessary evil. You have to wade through 45 minutes of commercials, dribble, and "Can you believe he said that" in order to hear something about sports you're interested in.

Colin at least has strong opinions and doesn't mind saying them. He also seems to talk more about the actual games than what the other talking heads said about them.

Reading your post history and I don't even believe you're a Tennessee fan.

All of your posts are negative in regards to the Vols. If you're a Vol fan then your screen name suits you perfectly. You're a toxic fan. You have a terrible attitude.

Thank God you don't play for the Vols. You'd be more of a disruption than Terrel Owens.
Not a vol fan? Because Cowherd is an idiot?

UT is a first tier job. Lane Kiffin said in one of his first interviews, that he wont go back to the NFL because of what happened in Oakland. Kiffin likes having full control of his team, including getting players.

Trust me..... If Kiffin has the kind of success everyone (OK.... ALMOST everyone...posi, 5150....You out there?) seems to think he'll have here, it's only a matter of time before he moves along to the next big payday. It's the nature of the beast nowadays.....

I would love it if you are right, but IMO you are dreaming if you think CLK has all of a sudden become this Good Old Boy that will never leave UT.

He is a young, agressive, up and coming coach who is working his butt off climbing to the top. IMO our best hope is that he stays long enough to give us a NC. After that he most likely will reach out for the next big thing.

I like CLK, and wish him the best, but I have no illusions as to his loyalty. I hope he stays and brings us a couple of NC's, but I'm not going to express surprise and outrage when he leaves. It's part of the business.

Cowherd and Erik Kasilius are the best 2 going right now. Sounds like you must be a Jim Rome fan. Practicing for tomorrow's smack off?:post-4-1090547912:

The took off Kasilius in my area and put on Steven A. Smith or whoever he is on Fox. Now he is one I can't stand to listen too.

I was thinking about this yesterday. The formula calls for 9-11yrs, 3 for buildup, 3 for peak (conference and national championships) and 3-5 to get the fan base all pissed about "only" making BCS bowls every year. I think it has more to do with fans and administrations than it does personalities. If Bear Bryant would have started coaching in 2000 Bama would have fired him by now.

9-11 years??? I was thinking more along the lines of 2-4.

I have always liked the HERD! Even when he relates life to sports it always seems to make me say, "hmmm never thought of it like that, but that is very true!"

He is hilarious too, just can't be to conservative to like him I think.

Bobby Bowden and Frankie B would have been axed as well. Someone should look up the best 5 year start for SEC coaches. Some dumb, old fat man resides mighty high upon said list. Vols, Everyone.

What else would you expect him to say?

Kiff's an alpha dog. He's got unfinished business on Sundays...he'll be back in the League if he wins big at UT.

That is an awfully bold statement when you consider what little head coaching experience Lane Kiffin has. While I hope he is successful here, it is just plain goofy to mention him with Carroll and Saban right now.

Cowherd mentioned the USC job this morning, said Del Rio has turned it down. Cowherd said the name USC should go after is Lane Kiffin.

Don't see it happening, but just sayin'...
