-- BATTLE LINES: With all the toying around with players in the back end, there does appear to be two jobs that are reasonably consistent from day to day.

Marsalis Teague has long been expected to hold down one spot after entering camp as UT's top returning cornerback. But Justin Coleman has consistently been lining up opposite him, and after nabbing an interception on Tuesday night, he was there again Thursday and appears to be playing himself into a starting role.

Byron Moore has also been getting positive reviews, and the Vols are obviously going to need more than two guys at cornerback throughout the season. But for now, it looks like the tandem at the top of the depth chart is favored to include Teague and Coleman.

I keep hearing good things about Coleman! Staff really did their thing on this one.

If he is better than Moore, Gordon, Lanier, etc.... then wouldn't they get burned too?

I'd be surprised if this happened, but if he's better than the rest I'm all about it. Kids highlights looked solid coming out of highschool.

In before MikeHamiltonFan gets called out.

But don't you know, JUCO players that he has never seen before will be automatically guaranteed a spot. Makes perfect sense. But he predicted that one time we would make the Elite 8, so don't question him

+1..hoping its Moore, Coleman then Janzen and Brewer with Teague, Lanier in the 2 deep

You don't want Moore at corner. He has safety written all over him, and the coaches are playing him there more. Teague, Coleman, Lanier, and Waggner are our best corners (in that order).
