Amazing the difference... Coker hits the hole, whatever the size of it, flying... Hardesty dances around and gets swallowed. Noticed that a few times today.

Agree 100%. Coker is the back who will be more likely to have success against fast SEC defenses. Hardesty, while I like the guy, has to stop the shake and bake - he's not getting anywhere with it.

I would definitely start Coker against Georgia, but make sure Foster gets some carries if he's 100%.

Agreed. Hardesty as talented as he is, always looks for the big play. He just needs to learn to hit the hole and get what he can. I mean he shows great effort but sometimes you just gotta take what you can get. Either way teriffic effort today by our Vols. Very strong showing.

Its nice to have this kind of depth at RB. Coker is explosive and can make things happen. We need that right now with out Run Blocking still being suspect.

I cant wait to see Foster healthy though. He will help us alot toward the end of the season.

Coker looked really good, but the Memphis run defense is a joke. It will be interesting to see how he does against UGA.

I like the way he runs though. He looks sharp. I hope Arian is ready to go for the UGA game as well.

Coker definitely knows how to just "hit it" and go. He really has a TON of speed -- that bounce to the outside today really showed it. If he hadn't run out of real estate on the sideline, he'd have been gone (reference the Marshall run). I like Hardesty, but he really needs to leave the dancing shoes at home, especially with the way our O-line is playing right now. There just isn't time to skeeter around in the backfield. As for Foster, I'm looking forward to a full recovery and a return of that fire that we saw at the end of last season. You can't have too many healthy backs as the tough part of the season approaches.

I agree with everybody but honestly I don't think Hardesty is 100% yet. He doesn't look natural cutting and I know that that type of injury usually takes at least 1 1/2-2 years to fully recover.

Coker is going to be a great back if he stays healthy. But you can't forget what foster done last year with no passing game at all. Everyone we faced new we were going to run the football. And the guy still gained 100 yards a game. I think you have to play both. Coker is the Charlie Garner, Travis Stephens style back. While Foster is hard to compare he is just slick. It seems he just slides through holes that are not there. I think they both compliment each other and both deserve to play.

Hardesty is kind of the odd guy out if both are healthy. I would like to see the backs get a few more passes to see what they can do with it. I remember having Jay Gramhn back there cathing balls in the flat and turning those into big plays. That is something we haven't seen in awhile and with Meachum and Swain streching the field it seems to me a linebacker on Hardesty or Coker would be a matchup we should win.

I think it's a bit too soon in their careers to compare Coker and Hardesty to some our best running backs. Hardesty hasn't really executed yet and Coker has only had two good games against two subpar defenses.

I kind of agree with you on Hardesty and have a feeling before he leaves he may wind up of the other side of the ball. Don't get me wrong he is a good back and I believe he runs as hard and gives as much effort as anyone we have. But I don't think he sees the field like the special backs do.

But Coker, I don't really care who he has played agaist. You can watch the guy and tell he knows what to do with the football. He is lighting. You could tell the same thing with Chuck Webb or Jamal Lewis. You knew they were good running backs the first time you saw them play. I get that feeling with Coker. Maybe its just me.

Coker also seemed to benefit by not having a fullback to follow.
