Yep, good read. Highlights the need to create a loud, and unappealing environment for OU.

its accurate except acting like their secondary is good. Its the same secondary as last yr that was one of the worst in the nation.

good read. still left with all kinds of questions though. and it's not the fault of the author, just the newness of the season and wanting to find out who has the right answers to all the questions most teams still have.

can our D get that much better in week 2?

or will OU's offensive line figure it out first?

can we replicate the running game, and efficiency in the passing game, we had last week against a much better defense?

or will OU's defense answer the bell again?

can our special teams (FG kicker not withstanding) positively impact the game again?

obviously i don't know...but i do think there are opportunities for us to take advantage of. i just feel like we still have to play a near perfect game to pull off a game like this. and OU will have to have some errors (hopefully due to the hostile environment?)...

i read somewhere, that one of the keys to this game was how do we do early...the longer we can keep the crowd in a frenzy, the better. if OU comes out and gets some quick momentum early, which you know they will try to do, it could nullify the home field.

i think we can win. just not sure we will. i didn't pick us to win this game in the off season. but now that it's here, it would be a lot more fun if we did!!

GBO!!!

I guess this applies to our O line as well since it is mostly comprised of the same guys? Time for some improvement!

Should be an exciting game, for sure...

Nice job. Love looking at numbers when they are broke down instead of just the total. Things look totally different when you see how the total was achieved.

If UT plays a zone defense, this could be a tough game, we have to improve our man coverage. Their QB (Mayfield) has a quick release and is accurate, I hope the CBs and DBs got their changes in place. the middle of the trenches is where this battle will be won, we force the edge, our team speed should be good enough to keep them honest. I don't think they will zone read much, Mayfield is the only QB, backup is suspect.

Go Vols!

I thought I read something about their qb never winning a road game in his career.

In 2013, when Mayfield QB'd for Texas Tech, their very first game was a road game (to a neutral site). Beat SMU 41-23. He passed for 413 yards, 4 TDs, 0 Ints.

Five weeks later, he was still at the helm when TT beat Kansas, in Lawrence, KS, 54-16. He went 33 of 51 for 368 yards, 0 TDs, 1 Int.

So I think we can put that one to bed.

Good night I am ready for kick off. Seems every jobless sooner fan in America is going to spend these last couple days starting the same argument on our board. It's like they are trying to convince Vol fans why their team is better than ours.

Good luck with that. I see us about even though we are very different teams both philosophically and personnel. Screw all but my Vols.

GO VOLS. WIN EM ALL.

I enjoyed reading this until I saw....."Eric Striker. He made his name against Tennessee..."

Sorry, but that's laughworthy.

Eric Striker was a well known player in all of 2013, and wreaking havoc on AJ McCarron is where you can say he nationally made his name. He just had another good game against Tenn last year.
