Is this piece replaceable?

If not, I don't really see the point of a the aeropress. Why not get a french press and poor into a carafe?

Not sure if you can replace just that piece - I haven't had a problem with mine that suggests it would need replacing.

I guess you could do what you say but the AP is so easy to clean and use I would think it's an easier approach.

The other difference is that the FP presses the grounds through the water. The AP does it the other way around. I believe the AP is much quicker than the FP.

Bottom line, go with what works. To each his own.

I'm primarily a winter java drinker. Eight O' Clock is as good as any and priced less than Starbucks without giving up a premium taste. I like my coffee medium with creamer.

Threw away 19 year old Sunbeam last year and bought a Bunn. It's the only one made in the U.S. Didn't trust the lead Chinese made ones have in their steel. Bunn's rock.

I prefer to keep my whole beans frozen and grind them the morning of use to reduce the acidic and stale characteristics of room temperature ground.

Best cup I ever had was Folgers with half and half a long time ago. Sanka is good for the elderly. Worst cup I ever had was some of my grandmother's corn coffee. I can't imagine rice coffee is much better.

I have been drinking 8 o'clock for a while, but lately it's not tasting as good to me.

My fiancee likes a lighter roast, which I like to drink black. I've tried pretty much all of the starbucks and caribou coffees. Any other recommendations?

I've recently started drinking Peaberry. Very good beans and incredibly affordable. You can find it at TJ's.

I'll have to look into it. I've heard of peaberry before, but I was under the impression that it was expensive.

When I was in Panama I picked up a few pounds of Ruiz and Duran... Duran is good but the Ruiz is by a long shot the best coffee I have ever had. I got some Dieseldorff while in Guatemala (German immigrant started coffee farm there, hence the unappetizing name...) and it's good, but fussy... You gotta get the water/grounds ratio just so for best results....

As for coffee commonly available here I like either Peet's or Intelligensia... The Intelligensia breakfast blend is really good stuff....

I can only drink Dunn Bros Infinite Black iced coffee. It has ruined every other coffee for me.

I tried 8 O'clock in my keurig. Was not a fan.

I just got back from staying with my mother for a week. She swears by 8 O Clock coffee. I'm a big fan of it now.
