Wonder if Hubbs is thinking about leaving ? As much as I hate to admit it. I had more hope in Martin when he was hired than I do this guy. I know most jumped in with both feet and that's fine but I wasn't impressed with the hire or his presser. I hope he works out and brings excitement back to TBA but I'm going to have to see it to believe it. If I'm wrong about DT then I will admit it.

Speaks to the relationship they had with CCM and perhaps not liking the way things transpired in the media and with a segment of the Fan Base. Do wish CDT the best in recruiting. Bring on the JUCO's, dayum!

I wasnt at first but after looking into the guy I am more impressed with the hire. Another thing I like is that all of the fans at his previous stops seem to love the guy.

I like cofer but if he doesnt want to be here we just have to move on and let CDT build his program.

Agree. Hopefully the hiring of Pinkins helps sway him back to the orange side. I noticed Ole Miss was recruiting him as well. I'm not sure it was Pinkin doing the recruiting but I imagine it was.

It would be great if Pinkins could pull some of this back together.

Really hope Cofer jumps back on board and CDT finds a pg and a shooter either through graduate transfer, JUCO, or a late signee.

A real recruiting advantage CDT has now is offering immediate playing time to recruits. With only 7 players on the entire roster there should be plenty of minutes to go around for new signees.

True but most above average grad-transfers tend to transfer to schools that are one solid position away from a deep tournament run.

2014-2015 was going to be a rough season regardless.

Hopefully Tyndall can use these open spots and pull in some great JUCO players for 2015-2016 who can contribute right away.

My issue with bringing in 5-6 JUCOs who clearly don't have multiple high major offers, is that you've got them 2 years. So next year you've got a class you can bring in 2 freshman, and will still have a JUCO heavy roster next year.

I would almost prefer he take a bunch of grad transfers who aren't gonna waste a scholly next year too.

CDT said that he didn't want to fill the roster with too many JUCOs at once because of what BTO said. I think he said maybe 2 JUCOs maybe 1 or 2 Grad transfers and then 1 or 2 frosh.

I believe he said that in the article on Volquest the Q And A with Rob Lewis but he did say it. It was either in that article or the on by Patrick Brown in the TFP.

As I said yesterday, asking for the release isn't quite the kiss of death. It just allows he and other schools to have official contact (legally) to guage interest while still considering Tennessee.

A signed LOI prohibits that kind of contact.

If basketball recruiting abides by the same rules as football, that's not entirely true; a player isn't actually signed/enrolled until his 1st appearance in a class... and can back out without penalty until that time.

There have been a half dozen or so cases in recent years where players who'd signed an NLI, but not yet attended a class, backed out of their pledge with no conditions or consequences.

well no new blood next year (hs kids), guess we are gonna be thin in BB, it is hard being a fan sometimes, would like some stability up on the hill, but going to be 3-4 years before BB is good again, baseball struggles, haven't been good in fb for 7-8 years. hang a hat on WBB and SB I guess....Please Mr. Hart, do something for us

So what do you want Him to do. We have a football coach that will get the team back toward the top. We have a new basketball coach because so called fans ran the other one off. Baseball is improving. Sad that you do not understand that.

Update: Cofer's family finished necessary paperwork needed to request release. He's open to UT re-recruiting him, but it's back to Square 1.

if he doesn't want to be in orange and play for the greatest school in the world, more power to him. Take your stuff somewhere else. We only want kids that love UT and love being on campus. F The rest!!!
