Not saying they're going to turn out the same, but who was the better prospect Tyler Maples or Cody Blanc?

Tyler Maples 2.0 IMO. As UT gets better each year and we get better prospects, this guy will transfer (as Maples did) or sit on the bench.

I don't think Tyler Maples had any other offers did he? Cody has impressed enough at camps to earn UT, VT and Vandy offers and hasn't even played his senior season. He could very well earn more offers before NSD.

Mark Mariani--Montana walkon and Titans 7th round pick that made it to the pro bowl last year. Blanc reminds me of him, but has a little more speed. I don't recall maples looking like this on film. Truthfully, if the kid isn't white, he's a 3/4 star and at 6'1/180/ 4.4, everybody gets fired up.

As boxervol said the kid runs a 4.4 40. His tape doesn't look bad either. I have the feeling that Dooley is going to sign at least one guy like this in every class. A speedy guy you'll see returning kicks and playing special teams.

We should NEVER underestimate the impact special teams has on a game. Now, don't get me wrong, I don't think we should be signing a guy in every class to be the gunner on the punt team or the long snapper (you could argue the long snapper point though), but to have several guys capable of doing something electric with a kick return (or actually field a punt in our case) is a huge boost.
