What is suggested is that Dooley is recruiting better than CPF did in CPF's last years.

So we have to get top talent thats a given. Now, how do we get top talent after some poor seasons? You have to start winning. How do you do that? Good coaching and good chemistry. After some wins, you'd like to think a snowball effect will occur, thus drawing more "top tier recruits."

It would be illadvised to believe we can just go and grab top talent at will considering the last few years. IMO, sometimes you just gotta take a chance on a guy that you feel can be molded to fit the system.

Lastly, we don't know how this class will finish out.. its July, so much can happen between now and then.

How do you start winning if you can't get top talent?

The fact of the matter is none of us know what we are talking about. If we knew what we were talking about we would be head coaches at a big time program.

Simply, with the negative publicity UT has had the last couple years, do you actually think we can contend for this top talent. Dooley has shown his capacity on the recruiting trail with these last couple of classes. Also, Dooley said it himself. He said that with the NCAA investigation looming a bunch of guys wouldn't even consider UT. And here is were you say apparently it is not affecting Auburn and all that other stuff. Auburn, Alabama, Florida, have all had success on the field lately and recruits notice this. So, if you are so worried about the stars then get on the bandwagon and hope UT has a solid year, because it is definitely possible.

Tennessee is one year away from being great. That is a promise. Analyst are saying it. Finebaum is saying it for what its worth. Recruiting will come with time.

Just watch and see when the NCAA Umbrella is lifted off of TN football we will be pulling top talent. In the mean time, we have the coaches to coach them right. Why don't we ever argue this? Dooley had such a depleted roster, and look what he managed to do. Tennessee played toe to toe with Oregon last year, until we buckled because we had no depth. He is addressing the depth issue. This coaching staff has proven that it can coach. Have you not read the article on how the manage the program. Why is it that programs are trying to pluck our coaches left and right. Texas wanted Wilcox. Saban wanted Terry Joseph. Saban wanted our wide reciever coach. UT got several calls about Chaney.

Tennessee football will be relevant again very soon. And TN Athletics is on the rise.

Dude, you are just not all in! To be a true vol fan you should be all in. That means supporting every coach, recruit, etc that is part of the program. In other words, support Dooley until he is no longer employed by the University of TN.
You're either all in or you ain't. It's just that simple. Go read you bible!

your 100 percent right...this would be the season to beat florida and get one more big win to get that ball rolling...if we dont get florida this year it wont get any easier against them...i just dont want to turn into a south carolina team year in and out...we should be up with Bama,UF and LSU...but to do that we have to beat them

Point is.. its a vicious cycle.. only variables left are coaching and chemistry. Maybe a little luck. I think this is Dooley's biggest challenge. Good coaching can sometimes beat better talent.
