I see a lot of 'talk' about the SEC being great. The question is: What do the Vols bring to the table to make the SEC great?

Are we really talking crap about BYU when they just finished beating us last year, and we can’t even beat Kentucky?

Well I highly doubt this Tennessee team can defend against the option, so possibly one or two loses there having to play Navy and Army. Boise State would also beat Tennessee, Houston would be a close one along with San Diego State.

As long as we avoid Georgia State and BYU we're golden....of course we dont want the mighty mighty Wildcats of Kentucky on our schedule either...

The OP's observation actually proves the direct opposite: that a team can, by winning a series of games against a bunch of nobodies, make it into the Top 25 above teams that play and lose to ranked teams.

Just because a team is ranked ahead of another team doesn’t mean they are better. Kentucky was better than us and not even ranked.
