Coaching staff is our weakness

We have all talked about how horrible the offensive system is, how bad the play calling is, OLine coach sucks, player development is abysmal, Etc. With all if that said, our players are still top 5 in the country in talent.

The game with Florida and the remainder of our games will hinge on the players feeling loose. I am 100% convinced that CBJ is wound up so tight, that the players play tight as well. Just my opinion.

Biggest weakness is actually the play calling. The 2nd weakness is the fact Dobbs is just not a good deep thrower. Play the Vols up tight and he struggles to get the ball to the WRs. Only hope is we get some blown coverage and the WRs can run under the balls.

No worries, our AD has very frequently been unable to find their butts with both hands in regards to coaching hires. That one is way to obvious for them to pull off.

I usually watch most of CBJ's pressers and he seems less tight this year. Even Freak commented I think a week ago that he thought CBJ was less stressed this year.

I heard yesterday from a Florida sports writer that our guys may have been looking ahead to the Florida game since June - which he offered might explain our lack of focus in the 3 preceding games. He said he wouldn't be surprised to see us clicking on all cylinders on Saturday.

Humans are extremely susceptible to the confirmation bias, looking for data points that reinforce their already strongly held opinions, regardless of whether they are right or wrong. I'm no different than anyone else but since I believe we've barely shown up in the first three games, I've found data points and other opinions which confirm my expectation that WGWTFA!!!

butch isn't getting fired this year, old AD has yet to leave, new AD has yet to be named and it will be middle of summer (if you believe what you read anyway) before the new guy is in. and you don't fire a coach in July.

and as unlikely as i think it is, if we wins 2 of the next 4, he'll be fine. so in the interest of it's still possible because we haven't played the game yet, there's still some merit to the "let's see how the season plays out" mantra.

I think we are all eyes wide open about the likelihood of Butch being replaced this year....not going to happen outside of a scandal or a collapse of Biblical proportions.

FYI, there is a lot of whispering about the new AD being on staff by the first of the year. This won't go until July. Hart will be on the beach long before then.

maybe. there's plenty of rumors out there. like i said "if you believe what you read", it'll be next summer. i think it'd be wise to have the new guy on board in December.

if this season goes south, i don't want to be stuck in the mud with out the ability to even consider making a decision.

I'd go top ten on the talent, maybe even top 15. We haven't always been in the top five under Butch in recruiting (this year we were 9th), and his first class inherited from Dooley (true seniors now) was actually pretty bad.

Given our national ranking, I'd say we are a tad below where our talent would predict.

i agree, that makes the most sense, just as of now, there's nothing really to substantiate that.
