He is going to get at least a year suspension if not a show cause; so no.

Plus, the recruiting has already suffered/been put on hold since last fall. And the stupid ncaa rules/infractions committee meeting isn't even convening until July....so, we were gonna be in limbo for another 3-4 months awaiting their decision/punishment for Donnie, which clearly was gonna result in a suspension/showcause and what one source said were certain "severe recruiting penalties". You're right Fan, as much as I liked DT, there's no doubt in my mind that they had to cut ties now.

Question - Prohm is a Bama grad, yet he's not high on their list so why would he be high on ours? outside of the fact they actually try to aim high, while we sift through the bargain bin

We can get any coach we want, SEC, Power 5, unrivaled facilities, the sky's the limit.

Dumb fan base that impeaches good coaches is the limit. Not much Hart or anyone else in administration can do about that.

1. Facilities
2. Fan base
3. Recruiting can be really good(Butch is proof of that in football)
4. Tennessee has shown it is capable of being a great program.(elite 8, and a number of sweet sixteens)
5. The number 5 is money.. That is the question. Are we willing to pay 2.5mil to 3 mil for a great basketball coach?

There are very attractive reasons for a coach to like Tennessee.

Excellent and spot on list. UTs basketball coach is still a very good job for all the reasons you just listed.

Hire Rick Byrd...he actually wants the job, and is one of your own (ut grad)

He's what you guys need right now.

Jerod Haase would be a fantastic hire. He knows the South, coached under Roy Williams at Kansas and North Carolina. He took UAB from doormat to tournament contender in just three years. There would always be a risk that we could lose him to a basketball school, but I think he could do really great things here.

and he just signed a 6 year, 6 million dollar deal with UAB.

Better open the check book, then...

Underwood or Prohm but I like the idea of a stabilizing coach like if texas lets go of Barnes. That man can coach I don't care what anyone says.

haha

If only Bama would take Prohm and leave us Marshall. None the less, they'll get Marshall and we'll probably get a rhinoceros turd.

this is ridiculous.

was there no way we could have kept him?

Why would a coach come to U.T.?

(1) Someone like Will Muschamp who has people fooled into thinking he is an up and coming coach and U.T. falls for it.

(2) Someone who is a proven average coach but in order to get him, we have to over pay. ( See Derek Dooley)
