Just letting you guys know what I know:

The first name to pop up in the DL search has been Bo Davis of Texas. No contact has been made that I am aware of, but this is definitely a name to watch out for.

based on his past recruiting, he is not a good recruiter.

based on his past recruiting, he is not a good recruiter.

I didn't dig too far into his past commits but this is what Rivals shows his current commitments for 2012 are:
Caleb Bluiett 3 star DE 6-3 235
Paul Boyette Jr. 4 star DT 6-4 280
Brandon Moore 3 star DT 6-6 335

They show his 2012 targets as:
Denico Autry 4 star DE 6-6 245
Torshiro Davis 4 star LB 6-3 222

Thats not too bad, and I'm sure that if Autry decided to follow him most on here wouldn't throw too much of a fit.

Amen on that. Whtever insider info that the AD department passes along to Jimmy Hyams is wrong and a smokescreen. We learned that much. They are just using him as their little *****

lol. Pretty funny if they're actually passing him bad info on purpose just to make him look like an azz.

I am not sure Bo Davis would leave Texas for UT. He will get a raise to stay. With the instability in the Tennessee program, I am sure will would prefer Texas right now. I hope I am wrong. Would be a solid DL coach. UT needs one.

Maybe I'm not looking in the right places. I can't find confirmation that CLT is leaving. Words like "appears" and "according to sources" or "according to something.com" lead off these articles. Has it been confirmed he is gone?

One thing I can say , I will not get pulled in to the Hype for any other coach positions.

The DC Deal had me drinking a lot , often and early .

Per local TV in Huntsville, Al. CLT is now the LB coach @ Alabama. I think we need a WR coach that is bad enough to jack slap any of his players when they cuss him. Know who I mean?
Any word on Steele as DL coach.

He turned it down. According to footballscoop.com, we are going after Wilford Brimley.

I'm not saying others including skeeter may not have some useful info at times, but no one else had any regarding the DC search.
Edit: to, not ro
Skeet did! He told us the night before.

While everyone went to bed not knowing, those of us that trusted him went ro bed knowing we had hired Sal. I slept good that night.

With what we have seen out of Dooley and how tight that he holds onto his information, we know not to listen to the UT sports media and message boards for accurate news until he is ready to release it.

I learned this the hard way after a week & obsessing over rumors.

& I for one like it.

That whole Hamilton (no diss on him personally) private jet coaching search bouncing from town to town "offering" all these coaches was embarrassing media circus drama. Not b/c we necessarily got turned down by every Tom, Dick & Harry offered, but b/c we may not have even offered, or they may have been interested, but things got caught up in negotiations, yet all these CFB fans across the nation perceived that we were offering & being turned down. Now, they can't really follow our search, only who we hire. Hell, we can't even really follow our search. This is the way it should be. IMHO.

Because, perception is reality.

Brick Haley LSU DL Coach - LSU's tradition of outstanding defensive line play continued in 2011 under the direction of third-year coach Brick Haley. Haley, who has coached in the NFL as well as having 11 years of experience on the sidelines in a BCS conference, put a unit on the field that featured just one senior to go along with two juniors and a combined five freshmen and sophomores in its eight-man rotation

In two years in the NFL with the Bears, Haley coached a defensive line that helped Chicago rank No. 5 in the league in rushing yards allowed per game in 2008. The Bears finished sixth in the NFL in sacks in 2007 with defensive tackle Tommie Harris earning a spot in the Pro Bowl that year.

Prior to his stint in the NFL, Haley spent three years as the defensive line coach at Mississippi State from 2004-06. At Mississippi State, Haley helped improve a Bulldogs defense that finished 41st in the nation in 2006 after finishing 113th a year before his arrival. Under Haley's watch, Bulldogs defensive end Titus Brown developed into a second-team all-SEC selection after leading the team and ranking fifth in the conference in sacks in 2006.

In 2005, Haley coached the SEC leader in sacks (third in NCAA) and tackles for loss (fourth in NCAA) in Willie Evans.

Before arriving at Mississippi State, Haley spent two years (2002–2003) as Georgia Tech's linebackers coach where he helped the Yellow Jackets to a pair of postseason bowl games. In 2003, he coached a first-team all-ACC performer after Tech's trio of starting linebackers finished the 2002 season as the team's top-three tacklers.

All this guy has done is improved the position he has coached everywhere he has been, sounds like the kind of guy we need and is familiar with a 3-4 and the 4-3
