Tennessee had to overpay to lure him away from Alabama. Tennessee didn't have to lure Gran away from anything. He needed a job.Why would CLT make 350k then? What makes his position more important? Are they paying him more because he's a good recruiter? From what I understand Gran was a great recruiter as well IMO anyway. If TN has better results this year someone will try to get him next year unless we pay him more.

Gran is the one who initiated the courtship. This is the job he wanted. From what I have read, he wasn't going to take any other job until Lane told him he wouldn't get the job.VKB, are you at all curious how we got Gran so easily? You'd think he would've been in higher demand. Maybe I didn't follow him closely enough, but it seemed like we were the only ones initiating a courtship.
Don't get me wrong. I loved the hire, I just thought it was suspiciously easy.
