Coaching replacements mentioned on VN

Hell we probably wouldn't have defenders getting hurt left or right if the offense could do more than three and out every drive. What was our TOP today?

Butch Jones is our Josh Pastner. He's gonna rack up wins against teams with inferior talent, which the sunshine pumpers will seize upon. But he's never ever going to get us where we want to be as a program. Sure, once a year or so he'll luck up and catch a rival, but he will never be a consistent winner. You can just see it on this guy.

You'd think most Vols fan base would have learned from Coach Martin and the Vols basketball. Some of you guys are so fast to pull a trigger. 3-0 and still not happy

We can just see what's coming. Let's talk at the end of October.

I want Mike Leach.

We may not win a game of jacks, but the sound bites would be epic.

Right now, I just want Debord to be replaced as soon as possible. Butch is really hurting himself to the point where he will get run out of here if he doesn't get rid of Debord.

DeBord is running what Lyle wants. It's why DeBord is here, to be a yes man to Lyle's plan.

After ciphering all the numbers I figure the buyout for Butch and his staff and the new contracts for Gruden and his boys... we need about a quarter of a billion. Chump change for the Haslams.

It's Lovie. His pilot just realized that the airport isn't actually in Knoxville. Going to need one more aerial refueling then put that bird down in Alcoa to begin the procession to K-Town.

It's happening.

Man.. I'm hating this thread. Reality is, Butch is 3-0. At this point, this is a future conversation. We've been burned by Dooley, and understand that a "Dooleyesque" meltdown would have to occur before Butch gets relieved of his duties. Do we really want to endure another one of those? That's what it's going to take. Another 5 years of wandering in the wilderness?

I think as bad as it seems, we should pump the brakes on this. We have talent. We have injuries. It is apparent this isn't the year we make it to the playoffs, however I am seeing some things to be optimistic about.

What are they?
We've got a RS qb that looks to be everything Dobbs is, and is more accurate as a passer. I see Tuttle coming on strong. Warrior and Byrd showing flashes of greatness. Kongbo is rough around the edges, but playing quite well.

We all want instant gratification (and yes, after what we've been through over the last decade, we deserve it, right?).

It is what it is. Watching Bama today, I don't think we can stay on the field with them. The way to beat Bama is with the deep ball and unless we get that, it ain't happening.

Unfortunate the injuries before Florida. We just may be cursed there, but I think we still have a pretty good shot at them. If we win, we will win it on Dobb's legs. He's a warrior and I think, barring injury, he'll take that game and put it on his shoulders.

Not only 3-0, but we have an 8 game winning streak. I know folks are panicking but it's been worse. Way worse.

Think UGA isn't having the same conversations? We got a good shot against them as well, and very well could end up in Atlanta. Just hang in there and support this team.

Terrible example We're all happy Martin isn't here. The play in game isn't good enough when 3 of your starting 5 is NBA talent.

You want a sign of a total 3-mile island - Fukishima meltdown.

I've heard the following as replacements:

Kiffen
Miles
Cooter
Fulmer
Spurrier
Gruden
Manning

I kid you not. And to boot? We are 3-0. Either way I love you guys as we all simply love our beloved Vols. Come hell or high water.

People are freakin stupid...I swear

No one on this list would even be our OC if DeBord were to retire. He will not be fired.

His Illinois team lost 34-10...to Western Michigan. :)

Barnes isn't going to get you any further then Martin. All I'm saying is it took Butch Jones coming in to get us back to actually winning. Sure, there's better coaches. But, do we really want to risk going down the plunger again? Firing Butch Jones now after actually winning will only send recruits running the opposite direction.

Unless you could steal a guy like Nick Sabam from Bama - All UT would be doing is shooting themselves in the foot.
