Here's what I think the fall out will be after this season.

Pruitt’s going to have to change up the offensive staff. But, who? Chaney is set to make 1.7 million dollars next year. For everyone who says Tennessee is cheap, he was (and may still be) the highest paid offensive coordinator in all of college football. They even paid Georgia $500,000 to get him. So, you fire him, there will be a buyout and then you have to get someone to be the offensive coordinator who can do the math that he’ll be out of a job in a year as well. Good luck finding someone who is anxious to sign up for that. Friend? And I know he’s a disappointment to many, but if I am being honest the offensive line may not be the TVA you all were hoping for, but they’re the best unit on the entire football team and I don’t think that’s even up for debate. If I were him and got canned, I would be livid. Between that and the personal relationship with Pruitt, I don’t think he goes anywhere either. Graham, Martin? Two VFL. My guess is that they are two of the better recruiters on the staff. I can't see any of these other jokers being able to go into a home and sell a recruit on the program, do you? So, that leaves Weinke. Goodbye, Chris. But, that’s really not going to be enough to make any real change. They’ll get rid of Joel Osovet, too.

A little side note. Chaney has been an offensive coordinator for 12 years, 11 in the SEC. The number of years his offenses ranked in the top half, again TOP HALF, of the league…..3 (2012, Tennessee. 2017, Georgia, 2018 Georgia). Eight out of his twelve years as a coordinator, his offenses have averaged under 400 yards per game. O-ver-rated….clap, clap….clap, clap, clap. O-ver-rated….clap, clap….clap, clap, clap. O-ver-rated…..clap, clap….clap, clap, clap.

Change the defensive staff? Who goes? Who do you get? How much cash to get them? After all, how confident are incoming assistants going to be about having a job beyond one season. Besides, there isn’t really anyone to fire here. They already got rid of Brumbaugh and currently only have 3 assistant coaches on defense. Ansley, Felton, and Neidermeyer.

All of these things make it obvious to me that Jeremy Pruitt should go, because all anyone will be doing is re-arranging the deck chairs on the Titanic, but……

Jeremy Pruitt will be the head football coach at the University of Tennessee next year. And next season will be his last season. Hopefully, for Tennessee the crop of coaching candidates will be a good one next year.

Doubt that they’ll get rid of osovet. They’ll either keep him on as TE coach or move him to QBs. Going to be hard to get people to come here knowing that Pruitt is likely done after next season.

I'm sorry, I just can't get used to this new reality. It's not bad enough that we'll get curb stomped by the lizards on Saturday, but we actually have a gator starting threads and making our staff predictions during Florida week. We can't even muster up enough indignation to slam him. You're probably right, 99gator.

You can fire Friend. He has way too much talent for a unit to be this inept. And it is coaching with that group...they're much better run blockers because run blocking is about physical ability. Their pass blocking problems are mental...not picking up stunts and blitzes. That's coaching.

Can’t slam someone who is right. Besides he’s not a bad poster, he only likes a Different team. Hated him on Go Vols xtra. Like him on here.

Timing of hiring the right coach is everything.

FL acted swiftly with axing Mcelwain and hiring Mullen.

We got stinking lucky with how we ended up with Barnes.

I feel like the admin does not have the intestinal fortitude to do what needs to be done to fix this now. We will wait another year. Maybe we will get lucky.

At some point we will get the right guy doing this every 3 or 4 years. We are due for some dumb luck based on the last 12 years.

Pruitt stays and about 3 coaching staff changes are made. My hot take is we make someone highest paid S&C coach in country.

It's like saying, "It's the economy, stupid!" about the Presidential Election. It seems we talk about everything else, and forget who it is who gets everyone physically ready to play (or not).

Again, the offensive line, with whatever problems it may have, is easily the best unit on the team. Not even close.

If I'm Pruitt and I keep my job after this season, here are the staff changes I make:
Fire Friend
Demote Osovet to an off the field position
Move Neidermeyer back to TE's coach
Fire Weinke

I've been critical of Chaney at times, but I don't think it would be wise to fire him.

We’re bringing Guarantano on as a grad assistant next year helping out Tee.
Hey who knows? Guarantano might make a great coach. Wouldn't that be ironic if in 15-20 years we start Tanomors to get the 10th straight bum of a coach fired and bring Coach Guarantano home?

If true, i would support that.
He understands the science behind being a QB. He just doesn't process fast enough. And then gets lazy in his approach during the game (staring down Reciever)
