Info:

I attended the coaching clinic Thur-Sat. I met all the coaches face to face. Each of them are very down to earth and extremely motivated to turn UT around very quickly.

The coaching staff was very informative. They gave out drills on DVD. They were very approachable, unlike the prior staff.

Analysis:

Crompton threw two picks in Thursdays 7 on 7 and 9 on 9 drills. He made some very bad decisions and looked very rattled during a lot of the live workouts. It seems like Crompton's mechanics have improved. But, he still doesn't appear to be a gamer!!! I don't feel like he will be the starting QB this year. He may be at the beginning of the season. But, it won't last very long!

As some of you figured out by BJ's stat. Coleman did a lot of check downs and dump offs to TBs, FBs, and TEs. He didn't throw the ball down field much at all. He made a few decent throws when he rolled out.

You guys don't let the scrimmage stats fool you. The 400 yards some of you are talking about aren't true figures. Most of the success was against players that will probably be second and third string D. There was very little success by the offense against the projected first team D.

Also, Berry only played a couple of series. Any time you take your best D player out of the line up. The D becomes less effective in all areas. As most of you know, Morley was also absent for the secondary.

The OL looked good at times. Coach O has the DL dominating the OL often. In the long run, it will make our OL much better. But, for now, the OL has a LONG way to go.

Hardesty seems to be pretty solid. Tauren Poole looked very fast! Toney Williams looked fast too. Losing Creer isn't going to hurt us. He couldn't grasp the offense.

As expected, Jones, Warren, and Hancock are playing well at the WR position. All of them made a nice grab or two each. DMo dropped one right in his hands thrown by BJ.

I don't see UT having a QB on the roster who will dictate wins this year. I hope Coach Reeves proves me wrong!!!!!!! David seems to be doing a great job with the QBs mechanics. But, the QBs are still making lots of bad decisions!!! It is early. But, if they can't make good decisions in practice. When the game isn't really on the line. Will they be able to do it come crunch time?

Prediction:

UT wins 9 games or more during the regular season. If, the defense dominates. If, the offense keeps the turnovers to a minimum. And, the running game is solid even when the opposing team puts 8-9 in the box. I don't think anyone should get their hopes up that miracles are going to happen with any of the QBs. But, I hope I am wrong!!! I see BJ or Nick as the starter most of the season.

Great post, thanx for the info, bro!! Hopefully, the QB sitation will be much better simply cause all those guys are a year more experienced, and mainly bc/ they are practicing with game speed........I hope that this will make the QB's much better, I believe that.

Now if you were only willing to tutor Griffith, Hooker and Adams? However, since they wouldn't be willing to listen, that might be a waste of your time.

Worrisome about the QB situation. I'm excited about our RBs, but 5 turnovers is aweful. You can chalk it up to the defense and all, but we will be playing defenses as good as ours if not better this season. I don't care how you spin it but the turnover situation is NOT good!

Awesome info, great breakdown----so looks like things are making a slow progression to the positive, this staff had so much to catch up on with just the S&C program.
