Big rumor around here is that Applewhite will be the next coach at U of Houston. I dont know in what way, but Alabama's loss has to be UT's gain.

from an LSU board...

Bama's top QB commit Star Jackson said that he may reopen his recruitment if Bama OC Major Applewhite leaves Bama. Applewhite is currently in the running for HC jobs at Houston, SMU, and Southern Miss. Jackson says the he committed to Bama because of Applewhite and if he leaves that changes things. This would be a huge loss because Jackson was going to be groomed to replace Sarah Jessica.

this one from their board just made me laugh out loud....remember "the ink is dry"?

I have confirmation from (#@!%$&^) (lsu player) that LM has accepted the coaching job at UM. They are just having to go thru the "formality procedures" now by saying that LSU has given permission for UM to speak with him. It's already a done deal. Also, Spurrier is now LSU's new head coach. It's a done deal as well. So Gamecocks, start looking.

Thought I would contribute to the soap opera. According to other floating rumors Spurrier is not at all interested in LSU, but Saban might be. Petrino to Auburn and Tubbs to Arky also has legs in the rumor mill. This is gold Jerry, gold I tell you!- Kenny Banyon

Hope it's all true

Get Spurreir out of the East, and turnover at Bama
If Spurreir doesn't go, I wish Saban would, just to piss off the Tide

Interesting. On Birmingham radio this morning, a former LSU player close to the program said essentially the same thing. Also, the coaches cannot be focused for our game tomorrow and if Perriloux starts, LSU is in trouble. Would be very conservative gameplan. Also said their defense has been killed the past 6 games and not playing or practicing well.

you mean to tell me that Jackson didn't fall in love with Saban's million-dollar demeanor?

Lex, love it, further proof that Saban must be the master of his domain.

and these are the days of our lives.

you know, as funny as this all is, if there ever was a year that a coaching change might not be in the best interest, it could wind up that this is that year if all this happens.

Jake, as much as it pains me to say it, you are probably right on the money. With the upheaval more intense than usual, it may very well be in our best interest to stand pat. I just wonder why all this uncertainity has not positivly affected our recruiting, which is very poor at this point. Maybe we'll see that in the weeks to come.

amen, the thing is that UM's system will not translate to the NFL so he's here to stay forever. :frown:
