It is obvious that Fulmer is staying. Depending on the outcome Saturday and the bowl, are the other staff members safe? I don't see how Chavis and Slade can keep their jobs under any circumstances other than us running the table in the SECCG and the Sugar Bowl. Who will be the replacements? Who could find the DC position at UT attractive? Could a possible future HC position be promised as bait to get a big name?

winning will make it easier to retain anyone. but regardless i don't see ether coord. going anywhere, and i'm not sure i would disagree with that.

if anything, there may be some position coaches that are up for grabs. Roper has had a few inauspicious moments this year (MH at Bama???) and SLade and Brooks might be potential whacks......

you're right...the backs have not been the same since Trooper went to coach WR's. Do you think UT can keep him around much longer as just a position coach?

Slade I agree with. And I have heard there is a possiblity that he leaves. But, Brooks? He is a very good coach and a solid recruiter too.

i don't think it will be both, slade would get my vote before brooks definitely......just throwing it out there.

they may be the kicker in this whole thing. How effective are the assistants in recruiting. I know Trooper does a great job, and Cut has pulled in some big ones. I still hate we lost that assistant (Gardner?) to Georgia....

Replace Slade, Caldwell, and Roper and I think we could have a really good group of assistants. Cut, Chavis, Brooks, Taylor, Luke are all good coaches. I wish we would go after Freeze from Ole Miss. He and Taylor on the staff could equal some amazing recruiting.

Freeze to WR coach and Taylor back to RB coach.

there is no one in the game better than Chavez he has been with the team longer than Fulmer if anyone needs to go it's Fulmer for bad Coaching. Chavez and Cutcliffe are two best in the NCAA.

In regards to Chavis,I don't know what has been the problem on defense but we know this guy can produce a great defense.

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?

You haven't seen too much football, have you?

Cutcliffe is a good QB coach and disciplinarian, but his play calling is no better than Rander Sanders'. He abandons the run far too quickly.

Chavis has had one great defense (1998) and one really good one (2001). Both those defenses were stockpiled with NFL starters. Every other defense has been one that would give the the third and longs in critical situations and give up the big play at the worst time. Plus his stubborness with that "preven" package is borderline incompetent

think Orgeron would come and coach d-line? I'd take him in a heartbeat.......and, personally, I believe the college game is passing Chavis by.

Did you watch any Tennessee games in 2005?

Four pressure packed overtimes at Kentucky would seem to me a pretty good sample of quality play calling.
