I leave you with this.

I've been following this forum for a couple years now (starting with Kiffin's so called "tenure") and I can't even believe the amount of retarded people on this board I've seen. Oh, and I'm pretty sure if you made a drinking game out of how many times a perfectly reasonable thread turns into a "PH11REE D00L3Y HEE KAINT WHEN!" argument, you'd be more plastered than the kids who decided to butt chug a few weeks ago.
Anyways, sorry that was off topic, but I had that bottled up for a while (practically why I even made an account a few days ago). Back to the original poster's comment..
YOU ARE WHAT'S WRONG WITH THIS FAN BASE. I couldn't be any more happy to see you go, good day sir!.. I SAID GOOD DAY!
Yeah but they did have that home run hire. They were in the right time at the right place. Could have just as easily been us.
Right now though, I don't think we could grab anyone like that. So there is no point in trying to find a new coach.
I personally am not gonna keep up with them anymore if we can't win ONE BIG GAME until change is made. I have been a fan for so long and have grown to expect a whole lot more as a Vol fan. That simple.
UGA, UF, USC, and UA are teams that we have to play every year. We are not going to be favored to win against those teams (maybe one or two of them will have a down year).
Sorry to everyone that thinks a new coach will magically get us to an 8-4/9-3 season. The idea of getting a new coach now is not only a step in the wrong direction, but would be an extremely dumb decision.
We would be looking at another 2-3 years of adjusting to a new offensive/defensive scheme.
Our recruiting would take a dive again.
Our team would be split again among those that support dooley vs those that support the new coach.
On another note: I don't see dooley losing to Miss State, but if he does, he can easily win out. We would go 7-5. A lot of you think that this is 'accepting mediocrity' or 'is not going to cut it for a UT football team'. Well it is time to face reality. UGA, UF, USC, and UA are teams that we have to play every year. We are not going to be favored to win against those teams (maybe one or two of them will have a down year).
So quit yer b*tchin. This is our UT team. Support the team or find a new team to support. Accept the reality that they have better talent than us. :hi: We are the underdogs.
My biggest fear for us is we get in this paralysis situation because we are on the cusp. Cant keep him because he can't win, can't fire him because he has not had enough time and we don't want to start over. The record does not lie losing is losing. Do we want two or three more years of struggle then two or three more years with the right staff or get the right staff in here next year. Still have loads of ball left but we have to start winning. Beat MSU and win them all in Nov I would consider that progress. Anything else and pack it up. The bar has to be set, put up or shut up time.
You know, i'm beginning to lean that way.
Even though we didn't play today, it feels like we lost. Just to see these teams and how far ahead they are of us. Aren't we supposed to be a "veteran" team?
