Coaching Change Today per Swain

I don't know how much you can really blame Joseph for our secondary woos. Injuries and lack of pass rush makes it hard on a lot of coaches.

I was thinking, since the defensive backfield did poorly this season, and we all anticipate Joseph being fired, being that Joseph is the recruiting co ordinator, will that in itself help to save his job?
It couldn't be good to fire your recruiting co cordinator during recruiting season.

Umm...you do realize that our pass defense was 12th...in the NATION don't you? I realize our backfield gave up some big plays, but if you look at the season collectively, our pass defense was one of our biggest strengths. I would keep our defensive staff intact. Change nothing there.

Those numbers are off. We only played 2 good passing teams.

To me, that doesn't matter at all. We played in the SEC, where all teams have a quarterback that can pass, and WR's that can catch.

According to your statement, you wouldn't have been pleased if we were number #1 in pass defense. I'm just saying, you can't put Terry Joseph down for this season. Can't help who we played, the defense still did a good job at containing the pass. I do not want anybody of our defensive staff gone. Chaney and Hiestand and maybe Russell are the only ones I'd be okay losing.

Those numbers are skewed. Teams didn't have to pass alot on us and were effective when they did.

While I agree the DBs were young for the most part and had alot of growing pains, I think the "ranking" is very skewed. Our defense was blown up all year as teams ran the ball at will on us. Also we were blown out of so many games early, teams did not need to throw it after the half and therefore would seem like we did not give up alot of passing yards. When teams had us down by 30, they just wanted to chew up the clock and end our suffering.

Might help explain why they just offered another WR with so many already in the fold. Maybe they expect some to bail or decide to go elsewhere.

Baggett is one of the coaches they need to keep at all costs.

Not taking a shot here necessarily... but why?

Which WR made big strides over the course of the season? Did run blocking at the WR position ever develop as it should? Did Baggett make the WR's he worked with... or did they make him?
