Coaching carousel success?

Clemson and Georgia? Clemson has had two coaches in the past 22 years. UGA has had two coaches in the last 20. I don’t think they qualify. Tennessee has had 5 in the last 13 years.

The question asked if a school had ever been on the coaching carousel and found success. I stand by these examples.

After Danny Ford...a carousel of mediocrity until they found Dabo...and success.

After Vince Dooley...a carousel of mediocrity until Richt.

After Switzer...same until Stoops at OU.

The lesson is this. The right hire changes everything.

Lsu went through a number of coaches in the 80s and 90s before getting Saban. Florida went through muschamp and mcelwain before getting Dan mullen

You've missed out on something very interesting. Read about it. Especially Mike Price. It just shows that Tennessee hasn't done everything embarrassing that can be done.

By the way, did you all see the SEC Shorts day before yesterday about the guy who's still mad that Alabama didn't hire Rich Rod? It was so eerily real. They do some quality acting. This was one of their videos loaded to facebook but not youtube. Maybe it's on youtube by now, I don't know. But it was darn good. And creepy.

This will be Tennessee fans if Pruitt succeeds here.

Florida has changed coaches like us (if not more so) over the past decade or so and they are doing/have done pretty well.

But UF has a competent administration that still cares about football. We got a bunch of power hungry morons.

Alabama had Dubose, Franchione and Shula. But what truly sets them apart from the crowd and makes them tough to top is the Mike Price debacle. Hired and fired before he coached his first game.

I think Southern Cal burned through a few coaches before Carroll. Florida, Auburn and Ohio State are one coach behind us since 08, and all have a rings during that timeframe.

You keep defending Pruitt and the decision to keep him. I have given you four examples of fired successful college head coaches who are on the market right now with no buyouts. What position group has improved under Pruitt to point to future potential? What team has Pruitt beaten to point to future promise? What schemes does he run that points to potential successes in the SEC? Which young players has he greatly improved to point to future potential in others? Defend your position with actual facts and statistics instead of the generic “he won’t unite the boosters” response. Four unemployed successful college head coaches with no buyouts won’t unite said boosters and Fulmer but a clearly unproven head coach with a 16-18 head coaching record does? Your position is illogical

Yeah I think there’s a segment among us who know nothing about the joke and chaos Bama was before Saban!
