He beat Tennessee and Florida in the same season. How many other coaches would be able to pull that off if they coached at USC?

Five losses. UT loses five games and no one is happy, regardless of how big the victories were. The only thing that matters is that he ended up with 5 losses.

And based on stats last year, Coach O was the master gambler in the SEC. Where is he on the list?

The standards and talent levels at USC are lower than they are here in Knoxville. Spurrier going 5-6 in his first season at Duke (his only losing season in college coaching) is mor impressive than a Tennessee team that was picked by many to be a top 3 team going 5-6.

5 wins may be 5 wins, but you have to take into consideration the circumstances in each situation. 5-6 at Duke would be a good year. 5-6 at USC would be what they've experienced mostly for the past 100 years. 5-6 at Tennessee with top 10 recruiting classes and SEC/NC talk is a bad year.

I would have thought Joe Tiller at Purdue would at least be on the honorable mention list.

Look at who is last in attempts.

What's your point?

You'd rather gamble more, even at the risk of converting less?

UT is in the top 5 in the conference...Fulmer's conversion rate ranks ahead of Meyer and Spurrier, coaches who you slurp up like a girl with a crush...It seems to me that the conversion percentage is more important than conversion attempts. And you're not generally gambling and going for it on 4th down unless you're playing from behind.

No, another person on the thread was calling Orgeron a gambler because he lead the league in attempts. I just asked who is last in attempts.

Why ask the question? The numbers are available to you here in the thread.

I'm guessing you're having some difficulty comprehending the numbers?
