FOUR Little 10 teams in the Top 10 ... give me a break !!!

That conference is SO OVERRATED. They will have another losing bowl record ... guaranteed !!!

Well, if we beat the snot out of MIZZO, we will be 23-25, BEAT VANDY (WELL) and we break top 20, but wait if LSU beats Florida and we win out we may go as high as 15 for the sake of the BIG GAME! It's all about the money!

What are the bowl possibilities for TN?
1. Win all games including SECCG
2. Win out and then lose SECCG?
3. Win out but not go to the SECCG (Florida goes)
4. Lose to either Missouri or Vanderbilt.

Except one A&M loss was to AL; NC's wasn't. At this point, I'd pretty much forgive any team a loss (for ranking purposes) if it was to AL.

Thats why I said "about".

Technically, even though A&M beat UT, UT has better losses... about the same on wins.

I completely misunderstood your comment. I thought you were saying that NC and A&M should be ranked about the same.

Polls have and always will be silly. Who really believes Troy, Western Mich, Utah, etc would beat TN or almost any other SEC team.

I say this every year, but this is the glaring problem with polls.

They ostensibly exist to illustrate a ranking whereby higher ranked teams should beat lower ranked teams with consistency. The problem is that it tends to rank records, but records have zero meaning when trying to compare dissimilar schedules.

Imagine this for a second: could the 7th best team in the country legitimately have a record of 6-6? No poll would ever allow that.

But, if a poll is meaningful the 7th best team should play teams 1-6 and lose, and 8-13 and win, and still be the 7th best team.

That's the problem. It's a beauty contest based on really flawed comparative analytics, nothing more.

Entirely possible that we win the East and remain unranked. The East is garbage and everyone knows it.

Should Tennessee win out and make it to the SEC CG, they'll be ranked for certain. How can any coach leave a 9-3 SEC team out of the top 25?

Even IF we beat Bama or Auburn. Still wouldn't taste a spot in the PLAYOFFS.

Just don't see it..

We've lost 3 of the last 5. SC really hurt us and we don't deserve to be ranked losing to a team like that

And who cares what we're ranked if we can't win anything?

Good chance we're 22-25 next week if handle Miz like we should. The odd thing about the rankings is that if we win out, and win a bowl game...and FL beats LSU, I'd think we'll be ranked 15-19 in final pole. If we win out and play Bama, and win bowl game, we'll be ranked lower. I'll take the SEC E championship, however.

Nope. We don't sniff top 25...
