UT should be at least 5 or 6 with all their talent---ranking at 10 is an insult! Butch needs to put this ranking on the bulletin board to motivate the players.

ND, Michigan and Stanford are the only three teams on that list that could possibly be ranked behind us and there are arguments for all of them. #7 at best is where we would have been ranked. 7-10 is showing the amount of respect for where the program is. Anything above that has to be proven on the field. #10 is fine. It's on the coaches and the team to get us higher and they all know it.

I would hope the schedule and losing streaks to UF & Bama would provide enough motivation.

Pre-season polls are pretty much worthless if you don't win where it matters...you know, on the field!

About what I expected except I thought our Vols might be up there closer to #8 in the poll. #10 is not that far away. Nice to be ranked in the top 10 preseason poll for the 1st time in years. I don't think UF should be ranked even though they barely made it in at #25.

This is also the lowest Baylor(#21) has been ranked in the preseason in a number of years. Of course, we know why. The big scandal & players leaving right & left.

If they hadn't had so many players leave I'm sure they would have been top 10 again preseason. A bunch of top talent has left that program. I also think Washington at #18 is too high for them. They should be either #24 or #25 or not even ranked at all in my opinion.

Dont agree with the 2 Michigan schools that high or Ole Miss -- ND has a very tough schedule so the jury is out on them

Not sure how Georgia made it in that high. They will lose their game against a sneaky good UNC team in my opinion. If things fall the right way they will be a top 10 team by the end of the year.


PS: I think Florida got a lot of sympathy votes to make it in. They are a fringe top 25 team and that will be their ceiling with Seabiscuit at the helm. I SAID IT'S GREAT TO BE A FLORIDUH Gator! GO TURDS!!!

I'm not sure Florida State will be undefeated going into the month of October.

Ohio State, sure. They play 2 real games all season.

You think FSU is beating Ole Miss and Ohio St is beating OK? Hell BGSU might give Ohio St a run for their money in the opener. And Michigan St always plays them well and Michigan is probably going to beat them too. That's 2 or 3 loses right there not including the championship if they were to make it, which I don't think they will. Personally I don't think there will be any undefeated teams going into the playoffs. Every contender seems more beatable than I can remember in quite some time. Even Clemson and Alabama will have a loss or 2. It's up for grabs this year.

Can we all just take a minute and breathe in a bit of fresh air.

We have ourselves a top 10 team again.

Just let that sink in. I don't really care if we deserve to be higher or if we haven't truly earned it and should be lower... we are a top 10 again, finally.

Not that long. They were unranked in both polls going into the 2013 season.
