hey, if they look at the issues, find solutions, implement said solutions, and we start winning, that's a good thing. and i'm for it. hell i'd settle for losing a game just because the other team was flat out better than us....and they WON it vs. us LOSING it.

in fact, that is exactly what i want to happen. if this staff gets it together, fixes the issues, and we stop killing ourselves, that's the goal.

and he'd get as much praise for that, as he has gotten criticism for what we've seen so far.

They were probably discussing the game plan you sent them in with your audition tape.

Agree, although I think some of these nimrods are too far gone to give him credit even if he does manage to turn it around.

I don't get paid millions of dollars to college football, but here is my two cents on the topic- if we don't develop a credible passing threat it's going to be a very, very long season. I don't see why we can't start throwing 10 to 15 yard passes on slants and sideline routes. Supposedly we have some four and five-star receivers and if we get the ball to them in the open field, good things will happen. It would seem to me that getting the linebackers and defensive backs a few yards further back from the line of scrimmage and out a little wider will help open up the running game.

If the coaching staff doesn't have the confidence for Dobbs to throw the ball downfield 25 – 40 yards, they need to work on a short passing game with three or four second release times so the defense will at least think that they may actually throw the ball.

Butch was teaching a class on updating their resumes but he will screw that up also. The man thinks he does nothing wrong but seems to do nothing right. He is in over his head in the SEC. He is no better than Dooley no matter how you spin it.
But at least he really thinks he has the best staff is America.

Spot on. What Butch declined to inform was that Dave Hart and Co. were in the room as well.

People forget that social media can spread like wild fire. TN had all good and positive press going in this season. After OK game the bad creeped. Now, after the FL game, the dirty press is coming in.

Dave gave them the raw deal. You can only lose to GA and Bama... Because that was expected. You lose any other games someone will be gone. The meeting was an evaluation process too.

Yep. The amount of negativity on this forum is frustrating to see. No matter what Butch Jones says or does, whether good or bad, the NegaVols are going to find something to b*tch about. Tennessee could win a National Title and they would say how we lucked into it or "only won because of trick plays" or whatever other stupid stuff they were saying on Saturday in the live game thread.

well that's the difference. i've been pretty critical of what i saw on Saturday. historically, i've been in this coach's corner. i've kind of flipped on him based on what i've seen so far. he has a track record now for what has happened in these big games. and it's well earned.

but if that's true, then it can also be true that he can earn his way back by doing what he says they will do. correct the issue.

if he does, and we can see the turn around, then i'll be very happy with that, and praise him for it. continued criticism after that smells of personal agendas and trolling.:)

but, this turn around actually has to happen.....:thumbsup:

No, I understand I'm being negative, but come on.

I don't want Butch fired.

I want him to identify and learn from the mistakes, even his.

I want us to get better.

I want us to win.

Nothing that has been done or said up to this point has shown me any indication that I am going to get what I want.
