Coaches headed to change Henry T's mind

I guess the bigger question is...

Would we sacrifice one of our best players in order to get rid of Cornbread?

Henry came from an elite HS program that is ran better than some colleges. He's used to order and structure. When you're use to a certain way, a winning way, things that are going on currently aren't appealing.

Best LB since Al Wilson wants to leave because of our bumbling and fumbling program status. Who wants to be part of confusion and uncertainty?

Sounds like Pruitt is still our HC for 2021. When you look at it from the administrations standpoint it sort of makes sense.
1) TN does not really have the money to get rid of him, I know the boosters do but maybe they don't want to spend the jack to make it happen.
2) TN has been down this road several times in the past, fire a coach after a couple of years, owe him tons of money, hire a lesser coach because no one else will come here
3) This truly is only Pruitt's third full recruiting class
4) I think the administration right now is being told they cannot hire Hugh Freeze by the SEC. There is no proof of this but I just think with as many jobs as were open in the SEC this year and he did not even get an interview that I can find an article on.
a) Who else right now would TN hire as a coach that is heads above Pruitt that would not cost a fortune (back to item 1&2). My coaching wish was Urban Meyer but I knew it would never happen
5) It just looks bad for TN to be getting rid of coaches every 3 years. No good/great coach is going to come to a university that he feels does not have his back.

The LB coaches last year was a guy with no prior P5 assistant experience and a former TE coach not exactly known for being good with actual coaching. What could possibly go wrong?

Maybe maybe not. My first thought was it sounded identical to when Mark Richt got on a plane to visit Jacob Eason like two days before he was fired in a desperation effort.

John currie was interviewing coaches in a hail mary attempt to save his job as he was simultaneously getting fired. Nothing will surprise me

At this point, Fulmer should be fired even if we don't fire Pruitt. If Pruitt is indeed coming back, Fulmer is completely hamstringing his head coach he supports so much by not coming out with a declarative statement that Pruitt is our HC in 2021. He's setting Pruitt up for failure next season by leaving him hanging by a thread, which means we will inevitably fire him next year and all we did was waste an entire season.

Fulmer is hilariously bad at his job.

doesn't sound like a coach that is getting fired to me
He isn't getting fired and our fans need to understand the damage they're doing to the program by not supporting the current head coach. If you don't like him, fine. If you want him fired, fine. But keep the hate speech off Twitter. It's poison.

Winning or at least showing a level of competency is the antidote for that particular poison.

Fired or not fired the investigation has got to be determined before to long. These kids want to know who they're coach is gonna be. Cant really afford to lose Henry T. Volquest also said crouch might end up at North Carolina. This thing keeps dragging out we might actually start losing real players.

Now he is hemorrhaging out players. They will have to start poaching guys from TN Tech, ETSU, UTC and Peay just to field a team.

For the 10,000th time, the fans didn't cause this. The UT administration, Phillip Fulmer, and Jeremy Pruitt caused this. The AD has had over a decade to get UT football out of the ditch and they've failed miserably.

Since Al Wilson? Woa man, that's a pretty big comparison. Fantastic player, yes, but as good as Big Al? Eh not so sure.

Who's been better? OK Raynoch in '99 and Burnette in '04, but he may get AA before he's gone. Not Herman Lathers. Not Reveiz or anyone else I could think of. LB's have been so so for a long time.

Edit: since AJ. 😁

I mean I don't know about stats and all, but Jerrod Mayo comes to mind. I loved him and I would put him above Henry T.

Ah. Blame the fans. Got it.

If we trot JP out there in the fall, then I’m done until we decide to at least try and build a winning program. And I’m confident I’m only one of many, many, many thousands.

Bye Felicia? Sure, if that makes the pumpers happy. I will never switch teams, and will remain a Vol until I die. But 3 1/2 hours on a fall Saturday is a blessing not to be wasted watching Fulmer, Pruitt, et al make bank for another week putting out a crap product. At my age the calculus simply doesn’t work any more.

What is happening right now has absolutely NOTHING to do with the fanbase. This is completely on the shoulders of an inept administration who opened a very public investigation into the program with the intent to fire the head coach. Now, they've decided to keep him yet they have gone weeks without issuing any type of statement of support leaving questions around his job status, causing players to flee the roster, and coaches to leave.

I could have maybe accepted Pruitt back if they had just said so immediately after the end of the TAMU game so Pruitt could start forming a better staff and recruiting. All we've done now is ensure Pruitt has a make or break year with a hamstrung roster and a coaching staff that could have had major upgrades but watched as all of the quality assistants took other jobs while we waited and waited and waited....for what?
